8:41 I'm perfectly fine with that!! My guess is that they will literally turn the sea red the blood!! But not just a little! It's gotta look like it's real blood in the sea and soaking everyone in blood, similar to the way Daemon looked after he killed Crab Feeder 🦀

I think adapting Blood and Fire works better for everyone because of the way it was written. The writers can sort of pick their poison in terms of deciding what accounts to go with, depending on well it fits in context with the current differences, and the plot will remain largely the same either way. Only seems to maybe soften plot points, like when Queen Green talks to Viscerys on his deathbed, I think most of the audience knows he was not talking about HER Aegon, so theres no real ambiguity for us, but its still great.

Personally, I think that ending would have been horrible for all three characters involved. Arya would have gone down the path of staying a soulless assassin bent only on vengeance, but with nothing really left to strive for after she's finished off her kill list. With the ending she got, at least she has her own independent story afterward as Arya Stark again, where she's not stuck being any of the identities she had to assume in order to survive. For Cersei, this would have meant she dies thinking she's experienced the worst most inconceivable betrayal she could imagine...except *psych,* it's all just a big fakeout. It's the worst of all for Jaime, as he would just die pointlessly offscreen, purely so that Arya can steal his face *and* his plotline. If Jaime had actually decided to kill Cersei himself, that would have been a meaningful conclusion to his character arc. But having Arya do it instead wearing his face just drains the meaning out of it for all of them.

From the final scene we got, anything would have been better regardless, but that could have ended cersei's story in a way that we would have always brought up. Rarely do I hear "killed by the bricks they built" being ever mentioned.

Yes, the Night King should have killed Cersie instead of Arya, for Arya is. not as tall as Jaime. But I agree , it could be reasonable enough for Danny to burned the Red Keep considering the Night King is there and no time to saved Cersie so it's better to burned them both. It would be epic ending. .. Aside from that, thousand of white walkers, Night King could have mislead the North warriors to send have the white walkers abc some to Kings Landing ...

Not only was he shorter, but hands were black, but not just his face. Jaquen said, to Arya, with the face comes the gift. Arya told Sansa that with faces, she could speak in their, live in their skin. It's magical.😊

It'll be interesting to see how they reconcile the Addam/Laenor/Seasmoke problem Season 1 caused by keeping Laenor alive. I wont spoil it here but GRRM was very specific when setting up Dragonbonding in F&B. Trying to claim a Dragon that belongs to another rider can be disastrous, as another character will find out later on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daemon had him killed the moment he got off his little boat. Letting him live was what Rhaenyra wanted, but I don't see Daemon risking that being found out and his marriage being declared void and his children bastards. He probably just let Rhae think that Laenor happily sailed off into the sunset, but when his dragon bonds with someone else she'll realise that Laenor is dead.

Maybe Laenor will return disguised as Addam of Hull. It would make sense, as Addam was supposedly a bastard son of Laenor, but was more likely a bastard son of Corlys Velaryon. In the book, Addam was only 15 years old during the Dance, so that could be a problem, but the show's writers have already made Alicent younger, to be closer in age to Rhaenyra. Also, Rhaenys is supposed to be much younger than Corlys, but I don't have a problem with minor changes like these. Laenor returning as Addam would be an interesting plot device, and he'd have to have a darn good disguise, but it would solve the problem of Seasmoke bonding with a new rider while Laenor is still alive, (in the show).

This next season is shaping up to be pretty awesome! Although my hype is mostly for the Dunk and Egg series, which is likely some time away. So this will be a nice appetizer until it comes out! Looking forward to your breakdowns too. I like how Blood and Fire is through an unreliable narrator, I know the original books had sort of the same thing but it isn't leaned into as much. That being said, I wish there was a way for them to use the Unreliable narrator to rewrite the last few seasons of GoT to improve the pacing and add more stuff from the books as well as improve the ending. But I guess since they are PoV chapters you probably can't fudge the narrative too much, but it is a nice thought.

Everyone that doesn't know what's coming will fall in love with Corlys' character. His arcs read like a mix of The Hound and Tywin, like had Tywin learned compassion during his rise to power, also the torturous shadow that hovers over the Hound also shadows Corlys. Yet he's tied to the person he's chosen to back, yet also comes into his own full development. God, I just can't wait.

They literally just said George RR Martin explained that the show isn't going to directly follow the book because of the POV the book was written in. So nobody knows more than anyone else about what will happen. Doesn't matter if someone read the book or not.

Both of those alternates would have been better. Really, though, GoT just needed another season, at least 1 more. Daenerys losing her mind was the right ending, there just wasnt nearly enough time to pull it off properly -- speed run like that made the move feel eeally arbitrary and implausible

So the dance of the dragons was not originally part of the fire and blood book. It was its own story, and I believe it originated in a anthology, called dangerous women. It came out years before fire and blood ever did.

It wasn't until after I had watched the entire series a bunch of times after it finished airing on TV that I formulated a really crazy theory. That theory being that the "Night King" we saw die at Arya Stark's hand, was not the REAL Night King, and was a sacrifice play as a strategic move, at the hands of the real Night King. Instead, he sent those forces to go and weaken his enemies, and then the real Night King would move on Winterfell with his REAL army. Almost like what Rob Stark did against the Lanister Army, sending two thousand soldiers to their deaths in order to achieve a greater objective, like how Rob Stark captured Jamie Lanister. The real Night King didn't just have a few years or a few decades to prepare for his invasion. He would have had a few THOUSAND ( 8,000 ?) years to prepare for the invasion of the south. Thousands of years of preparation, I believe would have supplied the real Night King with THOUSANDS of years of people, providing an Army 10× bigger than the Army we saw in the battle of Winterfell! The forces we saw was a necessary sacrifice. I just think that that theory would be the best way of doing anymore Game of Thrones seasons so it actually makes sense, in order too have the greatest chance of success. Kind of like how Showtime did the same thing with Dexter: New Blood. A revival season would absolutely have to be a LONG season, 12 episodes at the very least, and would HAVE to make a story that will redeem season 8 of the main show. Hopefully your going to see this comment and if you do, I would love even a little bit of feedback.

I would have hated the alternate Jaime, Cersei and Arya ending more tbh. Killing Jaime off screen would have been an even bigger spit in the face of his character

i get what your saying but I would be en Epic and play off the actual plot and theories that make sense. It would also mean that we could have seen her become so many people before she reveals herself. Depending on editing it might have been a fade to black and we see jaime body throat slit. technical they could even have shown us the fight after we know. if that is what is important to fans . The ending we got has people saying " HBO could reshoot season 4-8" and release it as directors cut which is all tbe Bingo cards in all the multiverse...none have that the idea that season 8 is hot trash is partly how they ended Dany but the unsatisfactory exit of our villain Circe they didnt want to show her gore up the same company that didn't mind having her walk naked and getting whipped. wanted circe to have a quiet soft exit Had Arya training played into the plot in S8 it would have balanced some of the hate. Yes others would be upset that Jaime was killed off screen but not having seen how they would have executed there are ways to do it well. i know fans that hate they made Arya a bad ass because she is a girl or they don't think she could best Jamie. I think she could and maybe not 2hands Jaime but Arya doesn't need to beat hm in combat she could have used poisons to weaken him or faught him and supposedly lost and we later see she had dagger dipped in poison an assassin creed might imply she should fight fair but going up against a Lannister you have to know they don't fight fair, they fight to win. i always thought The golden twins should die as they lived and if Circe lived for Jaime ,it would set right a lot of the chaos and destruction they wrought if Jaime should die for sins of his sister not the father . Maisie is an amazing actress and deserves to have an arc killing people the audience cared about. it would complicate the story and that is usually a smart choice fans can respect even if they disagree as a big group of fans might feel same as you do.

Let's be frank the alternate endings are the way the Series should have ended. If I had all the money in the world I would have paid the entire cast to come back and refilm the whole of Series 8 and given them a proper ending that would have done the characters cast and George Justice. I cant wait for HOTD Season 2 though going to be sad to see the death of The Queen who never was.

If I had that much I think I'd go back to when Jon woke from the dead, everything that happened from then to the end would've been his dreams and then redo it closer to the books. And with the Winds of Winter coming out soon (hopefully) it could be done better. But, even if season eight was done again it would be fine. It pissed me off the fight between Jon and the Night King didn't happen and Arya kills him. I think Jon should've lost the battle of the dead and they have to retreat south, maybe try to regroup with Cersei and she doesn't believe them thinking it's a ploy. It was dumb af she didn't never have to deal with the dead. Then once they come south Jon goes on a journey to get the sword Lightbringer so he can fight the Night King with it. And of course Arya gets her revenge on Cersei some how. After the destruction of Kings Landing they support Dany as queen instead of her going mad. Whats ur thoughts on how it could've been done?

i don't mind that ending I think fans that want season 4-8 redone with same actors or different is to much. i think at most even a complete season 8 redo would harm the series more than help. I could see HBO saying that Danny didn't die completely and that her dragon was able to bring her back. but rule. i don't think even George is going to have scenes of Dany rulings the 7 kingdoms. it's not because I think Danny is incompetent and mad because that would put her in good company of prior kings . From George's writing I feel like main character having idealistic motivations and those ideas being discussed by current wielder of power and common poor is more important than character arcs ending as was prophesized. I was angry with s8. but would have forgiven a lot if we actually saw 1 pixel of Dany on the iron throne. Game of Thrones ends and she didn't sit on the iron throne ...i would have been happy if it was revealed we see Dany seated her army's ready to set to bring the message of peace that Kingslanding has been liberated. Queenslanding will be rebuilt in a way to honor the dead and celebrate the living. A castle 🏯 built to be approached by Dragon mount as she doesn't want to ever see or mention of The wheels in a horse drawn carriage or in political terms. the wheel is broken.For all time.. please see Wheel of Time all permits are prohibited where purchase are required. The wheel of time is not based in George RR Martin's work Nor is a song of Fire and Ice mentioned therin and it is not coincidence that Rand and Aielmen have are strong red haired and Ygrette having been inspired by these characters is speculation.
