I love the fact the historical aspect of the house has been restored and saved. While the same time, the style is quirky and idiosyncratic without being married to the age of the house.

As a decorative painter/muralist, art, antiques, and old quirky house lover, I love everything about this house, but my ears really perked up when you mentioned naming the new chicks after Salem “alleged “ witches. My 8th great grandmother Susannah North Martin was hung for being a witch in Salem on 19 July 1692 at the age of 71. She was known for being a feisty little old lady who didn’t take sass from anyone, certainly not a bunch of bored teenaged girls. Sounds like a perfect name for a feisty chicken to me!

The strange wall paper pattern in the bedroom is called Toile de Jouy because it was first designed and produced in Jouy en Josas , not far from Paris, in the 18th century and is a staple in decoration since then. You can find info about it on the Net and in all good decorating books.

Two things-the French toile room with the ladies and the court jesters is beautiful. Also, naming the chickens after the Salem (alleged) witches is just about the cleverest idea ever.

This is one of my very favorite houses yet. You can just feel the warmth and love they have created. I love how they preserve history and they are both so talented! i love the names of the chickens and the baby chicks soon to be names! I would love to visit these guys, they seem like they would be so warm and welcoming. Beautiful home!

I love the warm feeling of this home with a mix of old and new things. Those chickens have a very luxurious home :) This pink wallpaper is called "toile de jouy"

love it! my one wish is that we could have seen a picture of the floor plan / layout. it seems so well laid-out (and he mentioned it) but i was having a hard time imagining it.

After watching a lot of vlogs on the interiors of older homes I realised I am a maximalist! A lot of the interiors are plain white and previously I couldn't pin down what was missing...I love and the patterned wall papers even on the ceiling, mixtures of colours, quirky furniture etc. I'm delighted you saved those murals as they are beautiful. Exquisite eclectic interiors! If l were you l would paint the wall of the blind/false cupboard at the kitchen with this special product that allows you to use it as a blackboard for every day notes, shopping list etc.

The kitchen is my fav! The use of unexpected things is the best: library table with sky high Forsythia, the love seat in the bay window, all the cutting boards, colorful bowls of produce and the hazard corner of baskets are perfection to me.

Nice relaxed home. I love that they saved the frescos on the wall. It’s great to give leftover fruit and vegetables to chickens. Nothing goes to waste. I have oil paintings of my great grandparents that I’m thinking about hanging on the wall. It is an interesting look in this house.

Now this is a Home! Every thing is picked up through the ‘love of’ not because it is design worthy or will match. Beautiful, and you just know you can throw your shoes of and snuggle up in this home. ❤️Oh and you know you don’t have to straighten the cushion back into place when you get up of the couch❤️

This house is really close to my aesthetic. Whenever I watch videos like this I get so overwhelmed by how amazing the home is that I feel like I have to turn off the video. I start looking at my own space trying to figure out how I could do something similar. And it just gets to be too much!

Love a home that is only slightly perfected, slightly coordinated but totally shows years of life of pervious people who built lives there. You have really good taste so you have incorporated your life perfectly into it to continue the history.
