Depending on who is renting the property (Management firms), and if you are a resident (Temp/Perm Card holder) your utilities could be in your name. You must take your rental contract to the electric company to make that transition, which will have a contract start date on the contract. Of course, private rentals will not have your name on your utilities.

For the most part the utilities will not be in your name and property owners won’t put the utilities in your name.

Off topic Question. Are you not able to flush toilet in all homes or just older homes?

It varies. Some homes have amazing pressure. Even newer homes are not built with water pressure systems which can be added. You can flush toilets. Some people say don’t add toilet paper.

Mexico is an old and historic county. Alot of the plumbing has not been updated in some neighborhoods or buildings. Therefore you may not be able to flush toilet paper down.

!!! In the US One bedroom 600 s/f 50 year old apt complex with no amenities would cost you around $ 1300 to $ 1400 dollars /month in some states even more . in mérida she's talking about a 3 bedroom house in good neiborhood with pool w/d connections etc etc for less than 1100 hundred dollars and kind of complaining about water pressure , toilet etc etc .. now renting a house with the same amenities in the US . Probably you'll pay around . $ 3000 thousand dollars / p month bills not included ..( around $ 2000 dollars difference in the US ) just a little confused about this comments... also sending the wrong messages for people to complain for petty things , in my opinion is basically a bargain the rentals in mx and no needs to complain for litle things like that ...bye
