Andy, darling, my fellow handsome plant guru, I think these videos are a wonderful idea and the Q&A format is absolutely refreshing to see for plant videos as most plant videos I've watched on KZfaq are general care information narratives and not as interactive. Looking forward to more, here's a thumbs up for the algorithm, friend. Cheers 😉

Ah you're so sweet Zaia! Thank you for your kind comment, if I ever get organzied I'll do another Q&A, unfortunatley the YT algorithm doesn't tend to like them so they dont get a huge amount of views which is probably why more plant poeple dont do them.

My Geoppertia Orbifolia looks better now that I have placed it in a large plastic zip lock bag with a cup of water. I also placed my Parlor Palm inside to see how it does. My Orbifolia has a new leaf unfurling that is green with no brown edges🥳. The Palm looks more vibrant and also has one frond emerging. But the bag is unsightly. My local garden center had some humidity trays, so I'll also try that option. I do have a humidifier, but I'm too lazy to keep it clean. I feel like the bag and the humidity tray are more sustainable options moving forward.

The extra humidity does seem to make all the difference, keep us posted on how the new trays work out.

I was thinking a glass covering of some sort would be an effective and aesthetically pleasing option for individual plants if they’re not too big…

That's a great idea! It keeps much higher humidity around the plant and looks great at the same time, just be sure not to keep it close to a window that gets too much direct sun it it could overheat quite quickly. Also, take the glass top off once each week to get some fresh air in. If you do it please send me photos @HouseplantHacks on Insta.

Will the humidity tray cause an increase in fungus gnats?
@HouseplantHacks10 ай бұрын
No, the gnats are drawn to the moist soil and not water or mist droplets in the air, if the surface of the soil is always wet this will likley create good conditions for fungus gnats.
