The husband in this case works a lot of hours he runs his own gym/MMA training center besides having a regular job, and I’m sure he helps at home too like taking out the trash , mowing the lawn etc. . So if she’s going to stay home , what’s wrong with her doing the majority of the house work! Part of the reason she does this is so she can spend some quality time with him, then when he leaves for work she has quality time for herself before the kids get up. She can sit quietly with her coffee, do yoga whatever she wants to do! What’s wrong with that ?

Why cant a women look after a man, they too look after us that does not mean they are oppressing us, that means they are in a loving equal relationship. I’m a stay at home mother, I just got into this ‘roll’ 8 month ago when my babygirl was born. Truly the hardest work ever I’ve ever done haha I wake up at 5 because it’s the what I call my quiet hour and a half. It’s calming to organise and make breakfast and coffee alone in a dimly lit kitchen. Feel great when I send my husband to work with solid Lunch. My husband works a HIGH stressed job, he appreciates everything I DO. I got a new car Volkswagen SUV for Christmas to drive the dog and baby around easier haha and to be safe! Well to bad the world is made so both genders need to pay taxes now, was why the governments started the feminism, simply to get in more money, before they didnt get shit from home stay women, with them in work to, they instantly doubled their taxes. Then grocerys and houses / appartments got priced by what two can pay, not what one can pay. I do wish it was before like you do, where one could work one could stay home, that way children would have it better and the world would been a much less stressfull place, one partner would have the role of taking care of the children and the house chores, while other take care of the money and finances. For me personaly i dont give a f if its the woman or man who stay home, i can work and i can do chores, doesnt really matter to me, so if the woman had a better playing jobb, i wouldnt mind doing the shit at home, but if i had most pay, then i would expect the same of her.

I find it funny that they keep saying that her husband should get off his ass and do work. Um...did you miss the part where he's the breadwinner and pays for everything the family has? Brooke does what she does because she considers it her job; she contributes to the family by cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids, etc. It doesn't make sense that the husband should do 50% of the housework if he's earning 100% of the money. And for the record, if Brooke was the one who went to work and her husband was a stay at home father (which there's NOTHING wrong with a man being), then he should do virtually all of the housework because that would be his job. Also, I'm pretty sure I know why feminists are really attacking her over. It has nothing to do with her being a housewife, it has everything to do with her being a pretty, thin, and happy woman with a loving husband and children. They're bitter and jealous that she has what they don't.

I've been married for 30 years and when the kids were young, I did exactly the same thing. I always got up to pack my husband's lunch and then I'd make us both coffee and we'd sit on the balcony together with our cuppa. I was a stay at home mum and my husband worked really hard. He still does, but not as much because he supported me in starting my own business and now we both work so he can take it a little easier. I have no regrets because our kids have grown into great people and we're still happily married. Like Brooke I was also slammed for my decision to be a stay at home mum and look after my husband and the kids but now I'm the busy one and they all help me. It takes a braver woman to be so open about her life choices than it is to follow a mindless pack. You go Girl!

Not to mention, being a homemaker can save more money than some jobs earn. Cooking one's own food not only is usually more healthy, it's also way, WAY cheaper. The demand for pre-processed food has gotten out of control. I was at a store looking for ground beef once, and I saw a package of it right next to a package of pre-formed beef patties. I looked at the tags, and the two were the same weight, the same fat percentage, the same value, essentially. But the blob of beef cost $10, while the patties cost $14. 40% more expensive. For nothing more than a shape. People would rather spend 40% more money on their food than turn a blob of ground beef into half a dozen circles. Not to mention, they still have to cook it, which takes most of the time. PEOPLE WILL PAY 40% MORE CASH ON FOOD RATHER THAN TAKE 5 EXTRA MINUTES PREPARING IT. I don't understand. And that's just the cooking aspect. If you have a homemaker in your house, you don't need to hire cleaners, gardeners, nannies, etc, which all cost money, and it adds up quick.

These woke people don't understand that a mother has the freedom to choose what she wants to do so long as it doesn't harm anyone if she decides to stay at home then fair enough even with that she isn't permanently stuck with that choice if later on down the road when her children are able to look after themselves more independently and she wants to get a job even if it's part time she has the right to do so. And I do it because I love him and want to do something nice for him because he does nice things for me and I appreciate it and want him to feel appreciated as well. I thought that is what equality meant. Equally doing things for each other. But fuck that apparently? Like nah let's not care about my fiancé just because he is a man? This is bullshit. I am happy to see that he is happy for the little things I do for him. Is that really that bad? This new wave of feminism is insanity

Im a stay at home mom and it has been literally the best time of my life. It fills me with joy to cook and clean and make my baby and husband happy. It is not slavery, because routines and not being lazy makes me feel I am accomplishing so much. Also supporting my husband on his career, and then supporting each other once I go back to school or work in a few years is the source of long and loving marriage. I think women get super jealous of women who have it 'all together', who are not mentally ill and who are not lazy.

They are working their arses off so they can have the ability to raise their own kids the way they want them raised. They are lucky enough to be in a position to do so. Most people have to send their kids to childcare and hope that the carers have something of a similar moral basis for life as they do. If not, they have to spend a lot of time reteaching their kids. Also, the mum (an absolute angel) is saving close to a part time jobs wages by making all the lunches for her hubby and kids and doing the housework herself. They are a team, a team that should be absolutely admired for their commitment to each other and their kids. I know exactly what they are doing because we are blessed to have been able to do exactly the same thing.

@EpicGurth Here's the crux of the problem. I did work one year when the 2 older kids were both at school. Third kid came later. I paid for after school care, which was expensive but the kids were too young to care for themselves at that point. Tax time and because my husband was self-employed, with my salary, we hit a higher tax margin. We got hit by a huge tax bill so that everything I earned that year was taken and I was then out of pocket for the after school care as well. The shitty thing was, I inconvenienced myself and my family for nothing. All because I listened to my so-called friends who convinced me I was not being valued as a stay at home mum. Sadly, that's the tax system in Australia. The more you earn, the more they tax you. Punish hard workers to pay for bludgers. I would say this to all women ... You can have it all, but wait for the right time.

Nowadays people want to dictate what others can eat, wear and do. And they feel entitled to crush anyone that falls out of what they consider "normal". Pathetic little creatures with too much time in their hands. Couples should care for each other, by doing what each does best. If one works at home to care for his/her family, is good at that and happy, who are you to judge???

My ideal life is literally being a stay at home mom working the house and family while my partner handles the buisness. But even my own mother tells me "You don't really want to do that, don't you want a career and be independant?". No, I don't, I'd be happy just being a mom, wife and making extra money on the side with art, which people, like my mother, have told me numerous times is not a real job. Some women need to realize that not all of us "impressionable young girls" want to make it big in the career world. They're just going the other extreme of the patriarchy.

I do think that that life sounds amazing but perhaps the reason your mum is a little worried because what happens if something goes wrong? Your husband is incapable of work/divorces and your left on your own, my parents went through a divorce and it was rough as hell because my mum was too dependent. Im not saying there's anything wrong with being a stay at home mum (I've known good examples of those as well) but I can understand concerns from other people as well since you never know what the future holds.

No one will see this comment, but someone might appreciate it. Into my mid to late twenties I was confused as to why I felt badly that I was not "career oriented." When I had a job and talked to managers I would tell them I didn't have "aspirations" to some sort of position because I didn't get my fulfillment from work. I got it from home and nothing at work was going to ever be my aspiration. My family would always be more important. I could be a good employee, but I was interested only in being that and only to support my main interest, my family. I felt weird and like I never found my thing... I realized somewhere in my mid to late twenties(still late twenties now) that there was nothing abnormal or lost about me. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mother, a housewife. Its my greatest ambition and Feminism, that toxic modern ideality... taught me growing up that as a woman, my ambitions and my interests made me lesser and wrong. That is why I will always hate Feminism as a movement. That is the opposite of female empowerment(let alone everything else wrong with it).

My Nan did the same: she'd get up with Pop & while he showered she'd make his brekky, pack his lunch & lay out his clothes - even WARM them in winter. They'd chat while he ate & then she'd go back to bed when he left. During the day she'd clean, do the shopping & pay the bills - then have 'leisure time'. My Pop comes home late & she dotes on him again, they go to bed & they do it all over again the next day. My Pop was a big time engineer & worked his guts out all week to provide a good life for his family & then on weekends for many years while his mother was aging, he would drive hundreds of kms to do the bulk of the farming work for her. My Nan doted on him cos she LOVED him, SUPPORTED him & ENJOYED showing him that she appreciated him slogging his guts out all his life so she could enjoy hers & those chats over brekky & dinner was quality time together. Maybe if people just loved & supported their partners instead of listening to this BS, there'd be less divorce & happier couples. Just sayin' 👍
