Күн бұрынThe Yemeni Houthi group claimed on June 22 that its forces had attacked the US aircraft carrier Eisenhower in the Red Sea. The announcement came shortly after US officials reportedly ordered the USS Eisenhower to return home.
The Eisenhower was rushed to the region in the days following Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel. The US warship ended its deployment to the Red Sea on June 22 and will briefly reposition to the Mediterranean Sea. The Pentagon announced the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt would follow the Eisenhower, heading to Middle East waters.
However, two unnamed US officials termed the Houthi claim about the strike on the US aircraft carrier as “false and incorrect,” Reuters reported. The US military's Central Command (CENCTOM) also dismissed as "categorically false" recent claims about a successful attack on USS Eisenhower.

@@mratchford42992 regardless if it was hit or not, the Eisenhower is out of the Red Sea, which was the objective. The US Navy could've cleared matters up if it showed the carrier unscathed after the reported attack, but it didn't. Instead it immediately went to port probably in Saudi Arabia before receiving orders to return home. This is a Houthi victory

USA must be trying very hard not to kill Yemeni civilians (collateral damage). More US military involvement may require Congress Authorization. The President of USA has no authority to declare war. Wars are won with troops on the ground. No American ships have been sunk, so at this time it is difficult to declare war on a country or group that is not in war nor has attack USA nor is considered a real threat to USA. Congress has even questioned if President Biden has the authority to send US ships to the Red Sea. Your "Iran Rebels" are in Iraq, a foreign country where they can only carry limited military operations, a country that has requested US troops to leave so their presence in Iraq may end any time, plus many Americans want US Troops to leave Iraq. The Houthis problem is really a problem for "Europe, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Israel, India, Pakistan, Japan, countries of Asia and even China and Russia" whose commerce is being affected because they are the ones that need the Suez canal. The "Great Russian Army" is a joke when compared to Hitler's Army that in less than 2 years had conquered most of Europe (review your history books) and the current Russian Army in more than 2 years only have 20% of Ukraine.

It was requesting to be relieved from their current mission ..... crew need a break and ship needs maintenance .... the USS Theodore Roosevelt is on its way from Asia ..... it was not asked to return "pronto", it has to stay on the Mediterranean Sea for a while .... It was alone doing most part of the battle .... The British aircraft carriers are long gone in the safety of their home ports .... The French carrier is playing around in the med ..... only 4 European warships are in the Red Sea, that is why we mostly hear about kamikaze boat, drone and missile interceptions conducted by USA ..... the other USA missile destroyers also need a break .... Maritime operators are requesting more warships in the Red Sea ...... Houthis always say to their people that all their missiles hit their targets. Have you ever seen them saying "we missed?" The Houthis problem is really a problem for "Europe, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Israel, India, Pakistan, Japan, countries of Asia and even China and Russia" whose commerce is being affected because they are the ones that need the Suez Canal. USA are really in no real need to be there, but everybody will blame them if anything happens to the Suez Canal commercial traffic.

Are you people really this gullible? With 5 thousand sailors on board having internet access and satellite phone access to their families something like this would have been known in a heartbeat! The Eisenhower is returning to the states because the crew needs a break. Don't worry though.....there will be another carrier or a smaller, similar vessel in the area soon. In the meantime Destroyers and other warships will continue providing protection as best as they can.

Their objectives of getting the Ike to run far away was definitely met. I think that the Yemenis hit the Ike, likely a deck strike that took out some jets, previously when they directly stated that they hit the Ike. This time I think that they just mean that they chased the Ike away out of the Red Sea with some close calls.

Yemen isn't a small country, the continental United States is just larger. But yemen encompasses the Gulf of Aden and the mouth of the Red Sea - no geography to stop them from land or the sea. Also you have to go through the Red Sea to get to the Gulf of Suez to get to the Suez Canal which means that is a Major maritime corridor from Asia/Middle East to Europe. They don't want a full scale war there, the implications for the global shipping and other commodity markets that rely on it would be profound.
