I like to go hydra first in matchups where their all-in isn't that strong, but they win by taking lots of little trades (such as rumble, tanks, etc). This way, when you trade with them, you can use ravenous in the wave to heal up a lot after trading. I go trinity vs bruiser matchups where it's important to have the extra health and dueling power, such as riven, darius, aatrox, etc.
