How A Spark Gap Tesla Coil Works

Welcome back to BackMacSci! In this video, I give a general overview of how a spark gap tesla coil is able to generate lightning from the energy of a 120V socket. I hope you enjoyed it and learned something!
I had actually planned on including this explanation in the video I'll upload on Monday, but this explanation ended up interrupting the flow of the build-type video. I think I succeeded in making this a stand-alone video! Let me know what technical details you would add to improve this video or what mistakes you think I made in my explanation.

Great finally some one showing how to the maths ! I'm build one this month/next coils on its way pretty sure I know how to do it just need help with( wiring mots ) plus ballast

great stuff Tate can I get 2 coils to be in resonance if my inductance meter reading is matched on both coils.

Hahah yes it does Paul. I'm planning on upload the second part to my SGTC series later this week. I'm putting a lot of work into it.

Omg that's hilarious that you remember that. It's the methanol video but I just made the video private because it's embarrassing now that I'm an adult lol.
