Tony & Maureen Wheeler are two of my greatest travel heroes of all time, along with Marco Polo & Ibn Battuta amongst others. What they did was indeed revolutionary. I can't plan a trip anywhere new anymore without at least consulting a Lonely Planet guide.

im a solo backpacker, solo backpack about 10 countries, i will always go to library to borrow lonely planet and bring it along to my trip. Whenever i run out of itineraries, i just flip open lonely planet to see what can i do. Lonely planet is my bible for travelling, i have tried other book series but they pale in comparison

Singapore should allow Airbnb style in HDBs for rental. Our neighbourhoods have a lot for us to explore.

The problem is that would jack up rental prices and resale prices for homes, which goes against the policy of affordable housing. This is why most countries have zoning laws for urban planning and also quite a number of countries also ban Airbnb.
