Yeah, pilonidal sinus is not talked about enough. For men there's about 4 % chance they get it sometime during their live and most frequently between 15-35 so one would think people know about it. When I got it aged 14 not I or anyone from my family knew about it and it got quite bad before I finally gone to a doctor with it.

As somebody who works in an OR, these are most common in men and on their buttock area. It can be extremly painful and serious to the point where surgeons have to dig really deep to the root of the hair and in a diameter of the infection. Some people are sometimes left with an open wound (a kind of "crater") on the infected area because it gets so big, but at the same time too shallow one cannot stitch it together... Take care out there folks..

You didn't know it. I did play with fractured hand as a goalkeeper. Our brain is sometimes dumb enough to not recognize these problems due to adrenaline being pumped out. Ingrown hair isn't a joke. It will be a nest and breeding point for bacteria to infect you. I've seen grown ass farmer went into a shock and eventually went into a coma because of it.
