Ive got my CAD guy drawing up plans for a quad cabinet but utilizing another 50" TV above the main TV but with a soundbar sandwiched in the middle. I left Hyperspin years ago. Love Launchbox. Great video.

Thanks for the feedback. I love to see that final design, sounds crazy to 50" screens on top of each other, hard to picture what that would look like.

Do have a video showing actual equipment and steps to build a setup like yours?
@IntegrumRetro Жыл бұрын
I don't.. I have a completely spare cabinet with buttons, joysticks, wires, and encoders that I plan on using to show a full build without the carpentry work. I just finished my light gun drive which kept me from KZfaq, so hoping to get back to more videos.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are you running Launchbox/Bigbox on your Megacade? I already upgraded to "The Manhattan Project drive" by contacting David over at EHA. I would rather use launchbox over Hyperspin if possible.
@IntegrumRetro3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I decided to make a new EHA compatible drive running LaunchBox big box exclusively. I wasn't happy with the drive I received, so I decided to make it the way I want.
@PowerNGlory3 жыл бұрын
ArcadesRFun are better built, use better parts, and the turn around time is only 12 weeks. Much more stable and organized Launchbox configuration also. EHA is 10 months last I read from people on their fan page over on Facebook. Why wait that long to play the same games?
@crazykong19672 жыл бұрын
Edit; A year later I sold my $4,550 Gamebox that did not work from day one back to that guy in Wisconsin. I am now playing, sadly on of the last Reccroommaster 2 player arcade cabs with a drive bought from a drive maker. My results have been mixed, but most of the games play as intended. Btw, I really like your channel!

I'd say there is definitely a market for a 2 player arcade that is priced between a 1Up and the 4 player ExtremeHomeArcade(And similar home arcade makers). But since these places have 6-9 month waiting lists already, there is zero incentive to start producing cheaper arcades which would have lower profit margins. You should check out the Pandora 2 player consoles that you hook up to your TV. They are only $200-500. Now be warned that they are NOT equal to an ExtremeHomeArcade! EHAs are powered by a regular PC, while Pandora consoles are powered by little systems like Raspberry Pis. But depending on what you most interested in playing, it might be the perfect solution for you. I only discovered these home arcades here on KZfaq about a month ago, although I have known about MAME on the PC for about 20 years. I have been looking at tons of people's channels trying to get ideas on what I want to do. I have a nephew who loves to build stuff, but he lives in an apartment and won't have room for a full arcade machine. So I want to get him setup with a console he can build and I can configure a PC to use with it, and if possible, install the PC in it.
@Captainensano993 жыл бұрын
Extreme Home Arcade systems are top notch. Yes they are pricey, but you're getting the best of the best. The only downside is the very long wait after dropping 4-5 grand...8 months is a long time to wait. But I know its worth it.

@Jasen Baker hey Jasen.. I'll never have the time to build a cabinet like yours; I'll have to be satisfied with having my games on Desk top and on my Android, but it's nice to see a game enthusiast enjoying himself and helping others in the process. I think I saw Spiderman Arcade on your cabinet. Does it run well? It runs great on my pc, but very poorly on my Android.
@IntegrumRetro Жыл бұрын
It does. It's just a PC running inside. The joysticks and buttons are connected to a keyboard encoder via USB to the PC. So basically, I have a second keyboard hooked up to the PC to play games, but it changes the whole experience. =)

Congrats on you cab with 70,000 odd games that will never work properly because they don't run at the same refresh rate as you t.v. Yep sound glitches, jerky scrolling ect. Also they just dump a Hypespin on these things, so loads of the games don't run, or don't have controls setup right. Loads of games will never run because they haven't set up the emulator right or it's too demanding to work on the GPU / CPU in this thing. Bu hey, no one cares, all people want is a shiny ornament in the corner with 70, 000 broke or badly configured games on it that will never ever run right without a variable refresh rate display. .
@IntegrumRetro3 жыл бұрын
That's what I initially got, the drive on display here is one I built from scratch. Having to deal with a recycled drive was rather frustrating, so I scrapped it and built my own.
@HUNTER-iy8mj3 жыл бұрын
You really shouldn't just automatically assume things without actually doing some research on these things. They actually run really well on all of the live gameplay that I have seen on this thing. I have personally played street fighter 5 on one of these machines and it runs flawlessly. Sure some of these games don't work usually it is because the game is from some really odd system with a emulator that doesn't work.
