FFP gives a good model to how the modern economy works in terms of wealth and taxes. Those with wealth ironically are able to get away with more than those without regardless of what the rules make to believe

So your solution is what exactly ? Give money that they generate to smaller clubs just because? How would that be fair? They're the ones with the brand recognition, they're the ones that were successful on the field (maybe not this season but still) and they're the ones have more fans. Punishing clubs because they make money makes absolutely no sense and no one in football would take handouts for losing.

Hahaha. When you swore that Chelsea had to be violating the rules and you find out that they were levels ahead, you blame the rules for lacking teeth. Well, apparently they had enough teeth to stop your club from being so industrious.

The whole reason it was implemented was so that clubs don't spend beyond their means. If the club is generating the money through success, then of course they can spend more.

FFP has never been about fairness. It’s “fair” in name alone. It always been about keeping the established names at the top since that’s who generate the most money. UEFA never wanted a Man City or Newcastle or whatever because they don’t generate the same level of money as others do, it’s only about money.

@@HarryOsborneAS31 Chelsea were establish by 2021 though, which is when FFP was put into place. Allowing teams that make money to spend is what they do, regardless what state of dept or whatever the rest of the club is in. If a club gets an influx of cash, new owner or whatever, then they can't spend that. Meaning that the teams that generate the most can spend the most so will always be on top. Never mentioned punishing anyone.

@@totalbodyperformancefitnes4813 and since those teams generate money they have been allowed to be financially irresponsible. I think what most people don't realise is that FFP wasn't implemented to stop clubs spending too much money. It was implemented to prevent wealthy club owners from spending like crazy and then writing off the losses from their own pocket (like Abramovich or the Emirati royals could have). Essentially FFP exists to make sure clubs can only spend what they earn from playing football and not from private finance.

Todd Boehly is basically doing what we all do in Football manager, stretching the payment as long as possible and hope it doesn't catch up to us in the future. :D If it works Chelsea will win the quadruple like how I did in my last save. its a strategy that can work, but its risky. in the nhl my chicago blackhawks did the same thing, signing a bunch of expensive good players on really really long deals that increased in wages over time in some cases. it did result in a few championships but afterwards it resulted in years of stagnation as the team was full of overpaid average players that it couldnt get rid of.

Yeah, as a Blackhawks Fan, you have enough championships anyway. 😂 But fr, name a team that doesn’t “stagnate”, or stop consistently being excellent at some point? I guess the Patriots have stagnated after a 20 year run. The Bulls have stagnated since Michael Jordan. The Yankees were flying for 126 years and they have stagnated for quite a while now too. And you’re acting like two Stanley Cups is it worth what? Giving up your chance to win more during that time? Have you considered that when you were winning those, the teams that weren’t were playing their groundwork so that they can now? You’re an American sports fan. You’re not supposed to be falling into the traps that these myopic and unsophisticated sports enthusiast do. I understand the premise of what you’re saying. But every strategy of every team that isn’t winning has failed them. Aaron Rodgers won the Super Bowl and was the MVP of the game. His second season in the league. He hasn’t been back to the Super Bowl sense. So his whole career has been stagnation except for that one season by your standards, and yet he’s a first ballot, Hall of Famer, and the legend in Green Bay at least if not League. Unless their strategy was to not be good. Even when they are stingy with their spending, the incentive to be good and get the money that comes with it is enough that their strategy is to somehow be stingy and still win. The Moneyball A’s “success” story amounts to exceeding expectations for a period of time. Nothing more. Their real triumph was changing the way that sports entities identify potential signing targets when not wanting or not able to spend like other clubs. I guess for most fans the dream is to have an owner that believes in the power of the purse and the advantage of incorporating advanced analytics. Chelsea got `eem

Financial Fair Play is a little bit of a misnomer. It was never about being ‘fair’, it was about ensuring that clubs don’t go bankrupt leaving players and managers unpaid. Clubs with rich owners had and will always be at the top, assuming they use the money to buy the best players, because the owners can always supplement a club’s revenue via self-sponsorship deals.

Firstly I am not a Chelsea fan but seeing them spending all this money on more players So How much say has Graham Potter had in what players he needs I would not be surprised if he only had a small say in this.OK they have injuries like most teams have but how is he going to cope when all the injured players return how is he going to keep them all happy. I hear that they may sell a few players so they will not get the same value that they had signed them on Finally what hope does it give all those players who are in the Academy who dreamt of getting into the first team I believe there chances will be very slim now.

Chelsea trying to replicate Man City and just spend, but man city took a long time to bear real fruit, Arsenal are on the rise and Newcastle are starting to rise. Due to the renaissance of Arsenal and the rising of Newcastle United (who will no longer go away) it's gonna be difficult to see how Chelsea are going to continue in the Champions League - next year and those to follow. With the revenue that the likes of Man City and Newcastle have and their expectations - that's two teams now taking two of those CL spots, meaning Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are fighting for the remaining two spots, who's realistically gonna take them?

@@rashidkhalid3970 I actually believe that your opening statement is the start of what is going to happen - just like La Liga also. You indeed are going to see those with 'unlimited' funded backers breaking away and creating a sub-tier within the Premier League. Those attendees with that level of funds only need to apply to win the league (and the cups between them). That is currently only Man City and Newcastle as the other clubs have financial models which require a sizeable return to their investors. If you can honestly can say that your owners / investors do not want money back out, then you'll have a chance of being in 'The Elite' as the 'Big Six' no longer exist in reality

They must have been at the club for two years, the full regulation is; "A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2001 and since his 15th birthday has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption."

Chelsea need this, it needs to build long term and need major improvements as it is. Since roman left the club has to build this from scratch. Tood bohely longterm contracts for younger players with bright talent as he did already in summer windows and again in the winter windows. Extremely talented youth speaking from football point of view.

Individual talent doesn't mean a great team. Teams are a machine Man City and now ultimately Arsenal are proving how to do that. Chelsea are 5 years off of it already, by which point Newcastle will be above those two. People are forgetting how Newcastle will be, Chelsea and Liverpool are now playing catch up.
@tanzimahmed8645
@tanzimahmed8645 Жыл бұрын
Arsenal - Arsenal have been way below par for last 10 years, they have underperformed in terms of development for last 10 years but gradually found there foot and arteta has come in and established that with getting the best out of the youth. Man City - Pep is a great manager but this is a downward spiral from last season, they have sold players who gave them impact and the rotation was unbelievable but unfortunately selling zinchenko who is arguably the best rotational full back in the Premier league was sold along with his ego clashing with cancelo didn't make it any better. Talking about individual talent that chelsea has apparently let's stop right there. Without haaland, Man City would be struggling this season, and 25+ already at this stage of the season says a lot about individual talent. Newcastle - Great season top manager, but still a long way to go. Even the top teams who are below par can catch them, so let's not go there just yet. 2 season is not enough for them to be a formidable side. Football doesn't work like that. Chelsea - Chelsea has gone through massive change of structure, no club has been sanctioned at their peakest where they at their best arguably, unfortunately UK had stopped roman from getting things over the line for chelsea which then cause uncertainty within the dressing room. Major players left the club, and players were not replaced. Going forward, we sacked a manager who had a great role, but the structure of the club had collapsed. Individual players didn't give respect and questioned tuchel tactically and personally. This happens when there is a lack of experience and understanding of how a club should manage its players. Chelsea has brought in talent and not just talent players who are ready to play in the first team. Before you go saying 5 years of catching up. Let's review the injury hit list, and that has caused a major backlash to the results on the pitch. Unfortunately, people like you will call this 5 years of catching up. Next season is a season to look forward to. Hope to see more of your comments around then.

As long as they arent breaching FFP and arent threatening their long term survival it is okay. We forget that Todd Boehly is not alone running this club, he has the support of multiple billionaires who arent billionaires just because of coincidence, most of these people are good at financial structures, sure they have never owned a football club, but they have owned other sports franchises without ever being threatened to the brink of debt. And it is allowed because it can backfire and thus Chelsea will have to earn revenue through other things, and I am sure Boehly will want to capitalize on the American market because that is one of his reasons of purchasing the club, as he thinks an American audience hasnt fully been explored yet.
