The greying out and sad music exactly reflects my experience as an Asian American child. I mean it's really funny but at the same time I think about all the actual emotional damage it did to me and how 20 years later I'm still working on fixing it. This is very very accurate. Impossible demands and expectations are around you all the time and if you don't meet them then it's like you're not only a failure but you are rejected by the family so to speak

Thankyou for addressing the issue about attention deficit disorder and how parents try to brush it off I am an Asian more precisely a South indian. I remember when I was 15 I first told my parents that something was not right with how my brain works they said im just stressing out but 3 yrs later I was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and I'm currently under treatment.

Today I found a Jamie Oliveoil book in my girlfriend's kitchen. It was hard, but I managed to not break up immideately. Instead, I showed her your videos. After she got enlightened we drowned the book in olive oil, burned it and made some proper egg fried rice on the fire. Our relationship was put to the test but we overcame the challenge, the ultimate proof of love.

What is accurate is, how Steven said just a single sentence and his dad starts getting angry and lectures him by shouting. He even brought up his relatives out of nowhere and discourages him even further. It happens with me and my mom all the time. 😭
