Not really good at spreading the message when instead of making the onceler a metaphor for major greedy corporations it instead just makes him a personal character who just was blind to what he was actually doing instead of a thought provoking antagonist to the lorax who also had valid points about what would happen to people's way of earning income and lack of completely viable solutions to this problem as a whole. Not to mention when the characters in this movie are used to advertise its sponsers who are also greedy corporations it really doesn't help with pushing the narrative with such hypocrisy. Don't get me wrong though, I had fun watching this movie but I just don't find it's narrative of environmental preservation that great but the comedy and plot for the onceler's story was great

You’re now my new favorite child! *oncelers mom drives away *all of the animals (states once occupied by Japan) walking away (gaining independence) The Lorax (USA): thanks to your hacking and smoging and glumping (conquest, mistreatment, and war crimes), they can’t live here (be a part of you) anymore. So I’m sending them off. Hopefully they will be able to find a better place (regain themselves) out there. The Onceler (Japan): Wait! Hey! *some bear (Manchuria, now under Mao), looks at him The Onceler: Pipsqueak! *holds marshmallow (nothing lol) *some bear walks away, along will all of the other former occupied states *The Lorax (USA) shakes his head and flies away (unoccupies Japan) -flash forward to the future Some kid (Japanese history students): so this really is all your fault. You can make one about England’s medieval history, starting with King Edward I with the invasion of Wales and Scotland, Scottish Wars for Independence and the Hundred Years Wars with King Edward II, III, Richard II (but was quickly thrown away by Henry IV). The climax of the song being Henry V and Agincourt. After the song is the end of the war with France winning Gascony and Henry VI yelling at the ghost of Joan of Arc that no one will stop him from losing the war until the last tree, Richard of York, took the English throne. The billboard splitting into the War of the Roses with Francis II of Brittany and Henry Tudor (Henry VII) being inspired.
