The great thing about tube heads though is once you change the filter caps, the amp will be good as new.

That Electra Dyne is one amazing sounding amp! Is that an aftermarket head shell on the Electra Dyne? I've never seen one like that before. I like it better than the original oval shaped design head shell. Thanks!

I’m not sure I agree. It sounds tell tale like bad caps in one of these. The amp was went over and the tubes replaced with known tested performers. There were no changes with the tubes so the original tubes were put back (why charge them if it doesn’t fix it?). I don’t recall what all was done inside, but it was went over and I determined the caps were likely the primary cause.
