Look at the New York crowd for most of those earlier matches. Those are real tennis fans, paying mid-range prices, viewing multiple matches, appreciating great shots regardless of who makes them. Then you get to the final, and it's all rich snobs, celebrities, and Hamptons royalty spitting and screaming for Serena. Forget them.

I was there, but she was super speedy and strong!!! and I've noticed that there's a pattern who wins a combination of Indian Wells for the first time, the player wins the US open as well. (or should we expect her to win AO as well...? Let's just wait and see...)

I feel bad for Serena as she just isn’t as good as she used to be after the baby. Her age and post pregnancy have affected her movement. She cant get the shots she used to anymore. Still, her ability to make four finals even after her pregnancy is a testament to her talent. Her best days are behind her but she sure is one hell of a player.

@@robbyten100 Great point. The luck factor is immense, but only between players of more or less equal strength. One or two points can tilt the balance either way. When there's a huge imbalance, luck is secondary, but can still be a factor.

With Bianca's history of chronic injury, followed by rehab, I doubt if we're gonna see her in another Grand slam final. Her body can't handle the sport.

Where was Jehovah God there you must have not showed up to the tournament because Serena lost poor guy all tuckered out he went to so many practices during her career I never heard her father if it gets thank by Serena ever.... the big guy Jehovah God gets all the credits I don't know if you showed up to 1 practice I'm not sure the father broke his back bringing these two girls up make them famous and I never heard hear her give him any credits that Jehovah God I hope he helps me out and Megan you stay on that side of the fence you cheer for the USA

Bianca is a good player but she won because Great Serena froze and did not play well. If Serena had played as she usually plays, she would have destroyed Bianca. There is however always a next time

Serena didn't play like Serena because of the way Bianca plays. Bianca has a mixture of guile, power, and junk ball tactics that frustrate opponents and make them play badly. Serena even said after Toronto that the one player she feared at the USO was Bianca.
