Deadlift stance is extremely individual. I’m glad you made this video to widen the perspective of newer lifters because most of them seem to assume that everyone does every lift exactly the same.

I'm 66, 150 lbs, just started deadlifting 6 months ago . I've been stuck at 233 lbs for the last month. I've seen just about every video on deadlifting. You are the only one who's talked about reducing the hip moment arm by narrowing the stance and bowing the legs. I tried it today for the first time and hit 255 lbs for the first time. Not only that, but I felt strong doing it, and envision future gains using your method. Thanks for sharing this!

@thespiritbomb depends on what program he was using and what is he going to use, and what diet he used and he will and what form, if he attaned 605 with bad program or skipping a lot of sessions, bad diet and bad form and he now does everything perfect I would say it os possible in one year, but he has to had sucked at diet programming and form and I dont think thats the case, he also has to now do everything perfect. I've never seen anyone super strong Powerlifters Deadlift with their feet that close!
@ConnorLipke
@ConnorLipke 5 жыл бұрын
Joey Szatmary explained the closer feet in a recent video as well. Uses less back, and more leg drive when you bring your feet closer, and knees wider. I started training my deadlift for the first time about a month ago. I'm at a 500lbs deadlift for one rep currently. When my feet were wider, my lower back was fried for a week at a time between lifts. With closer feet, my back is less strained and I can train more often. Definitely look into mimicking this stance if you're training more often than once a week/every other week. Your CNS will be fine.

The coach in the video recommends this form if you're _competitively_ lifting, if you're just trying to get "generally strong" it's probably a bad idea. But to know for sure I'd recommend some kind of in-person coach who can either help you adopt the form or explain why it wouldn't be necessary at this time. I just don't want you to get hurt is all
@Johnboysmudge
@Johnboysmudge 5 жыл бұрын
@@kirkendauhl6990 cheers mate, I'm not going to start deadlifting with the feet close together form the whole time, I just meant that it will be interesting to try it once I get a bit stronger, to see if the decreased ROM does help with heavy pulls. Don't worry I'd build up to it, not gonna just try and yank 450 of the ground with a form I haven't first mastered 👍🏻
