Buying fish online seems kinda weird at first, I know that how I felt about it many years ago. If your "local" fish store is hours away, then getting fish online from a reputable seller might be cheaper for you than making the journey.

pro tip for anyone struggling with staghorn algae. Instead of brushing and pulling by hand, use air tubing to create a narrow syphon and it should come out or at least be a lot easier to pull out

Hi 😁Try to use RO water and 50% water change every week plus water temperature 23c/or 73f and everything should come back to normal Regards 😁👍

I have bin buying fish on line for years due to the simple fact that I am 3 hours or more from a fish shop and driving out there costs a lot more then just ordering them. Thanks for the link to the wet spot though I shall check them out.

I'm lucky that my fish store will order in anything I want if is available. When I do order online it is $70 for good shipping

I purchased some killis from the wet spot but I did open the bags and dump the fish into a bucket to drip acclimate them before introducing them to my tank. The water they were in had a tds of about 120 and my tds was about 300ppm wasn’t sure how big of a shock it would be I’m always nervous to just acclimate to temperature only. I’ve had my 2 pairs of killis for 3 months so far absolutely love them! Can’t wait to have more tank space to buy more from the wet spot!

I’ve noticed my lfss still have a limited amount of fish. I wanted Pygmy corys but I couldn’t find them anywhere so I ordered them from Dans Fish. His shipping is pricey but it was well worth it! Tank looks awesome! ❤ Thx for the video

love the wet spot, cool video .... in the 10 yrs i've been into aquarium hobby, I never acclimate the fishes , i just plop them in... i've never had any issues !

Im going to try aquahuna for the first time when they get their scarlet badis back in stock. Their shipping is only 12 .99 and ill try some white clouds and panda corys for other tanks.

I’ve heard good things about them so I tried them because they were the only ones who had corydoras habrosus in stock. I was not impressed. All 6 of the habrosus had started twirling within 2 weeks and died. All of the rest of my fish were fine, including my original 3 habrosus. I wasn’t too terribly pleased.

When I lived in Missoula, MT the closest freshwater fish store (besides PetSmart/Petco) were 4 hours away so I got all my fish and plants online. Often paid more for shipping than I did the actual fish, but I was able to get healthy fish and that made it worth it.

It's a good point to mention how far the shipping is. If you're only shipping a couple states away then it's probably fine but of you're shipping across the country, maybe reconsider?

Since covid my local dealer stopped selling animals, he's not going back from there. It has some good in it since all his aquariums are for sale fully equiped for a bargain price. I'm from Canada and live in a remote area, I need to do a 3 hours drive to the nearest fishstore. Ordering online does scare me tho. I know they will pack it really well but the trip home may take up to 3 days, at -25°C outside I just don't think it's a good idea.

Aqua Huna is the best and cheapest website to buy fish and inverts rn on the internet. Unfortunately, I live in Washington and they don't let us buy from them. They didn't want to compete with other fish stores over here.

And as an Alaskan I’m so thankful for Aquahuna! Since Washington is the closest state and they are the largest online fish seller (that I know of) I’ve gotten almost all my fish from them. Takes consistently between 2-3 days to get to me. Most places either don’t ship to Alaska or charge $50+ for shipping. It really is the best option for us and more importantly, quickest trip for the fish.

I get your point about not opening the bag and causing spikes, but on-line fish stores (at least the ones I order from) do not feed the fish for 24 hours before packing them and shipping them. They do this to avoid detritus and ammonia build up in the bag so I don't think this will be an issue for fish deliveries that were shipped overnight. I have ordered fish on-line many times and cut the bags immediately, fold over the top about 1", and then float them on the top. Folding the top over allows the bag to easily float without falling on it's side while doing the water acclimation.

I had a friend that bought a betta online with next day delivery. It got lost in transit for 5 days and finally arrived and was still alive. But it put me off buying fish online. Plus you never know what quality you are going to get.

I'm looking at guppies online because all of our LFS has mostly mutt guppies and we want to start breeding guppies. Shipping is not fun to pay.

Would just like to assure you there is an enormous abundance of CAUTION before ANY fish are shipped from the Wet Spot! I was the General Sales Mgr for the wholesale side of things, a huge side of fish that are IN the Wet Spot. Fish are not fed for 24 hours before shipping. ALL WILD FISH and any other fish are treated any issues that might occur NO FISH LEAVE THE WHOLESALE operation for at the very least one week before shipping ANYWHERE. With small Tetras or instance the Wholesale side buys thousand of those type of fish and many enjoy longer stays also being fed LIVE baby Brine Shrimp. NOTHING, I MWAN NOTHING leaves the Wholesale facility unless they are READT to travel regardless of where they're going. Thank you for buying & trusting a world renowned Tropical Fish store. I hope do so again soon! Rich W.
