The Power of Music is such a Powerful tool to express what you're feeling or going thru. We all can relate to a song in different ways. Calum's songs tell a story of what he went thru and we can really feel it as if we were going thru, it with him. Myself coming out in the late 80s, early 90s was a lot more scarier and not knowing what to expect or knowing what it was to be gay at the time. No as days it's somewhat more easier to come out since we have some many gay icons around and the support of other famous people and the most important ones are our family and close friends who understand and love us "No Matter What".

Colum, I will never forget the night you got up on EGT and sang dancing on my own and stunned the audience. However, you got one of the biggest standing ovations ever. Oh, how times have changed. There are more and more and more guys and gals now performing who are known to be gay and somehow, almost all of them are mega exceptional at what they do. I think they sing and those who write lyrics write lyrics from a deep deep place in their heart. "No Matter What" I pray has opened the minds and softened the hearts of parents of many Parents of gay children. For generations, parents have thrown their children to the wolfs because having a gay child embarrassed "them". They are under the stupid assumption that other stupid people will blame them for their child being Gay through bad parenting. Whatever happened to unconditional love? Then you came out with You Are The Reason It blew my mind !! What a beautiful piece of work. You sang it and looked so HOT singing it. Best of everything to you and your beautiful family.

Well it looks like he doesn’t struggle with money or housing !! So Honestly he is much better off than a lot of lgbtq housing right now. I’ve been “publically gay” for a decade and I really struggle with just affording a place to live. (I came out as soon as I turned 18- everyone already knew but it was public at that point) I apply to new jobs everyday too - it’s really hard. I hope he understands the privilege and support that he has ❤️like the shit I have to do for money just to afford the cheapest housing in the area .. it’s rediculous

I’m gay. I’m attracted to men and I am turning twenty five years old. I went through so much religious trauma ever since I seventeen years ago and I am still struggling but I so badly want to be myself and am struggling. I want a romantic relationship with a man but I was treated really badly by a lot of Christians and other religious people. I don’t want to be ashamed. I want to be myself. It’s just hard for me because of what I have went through for eight years.

thats so bad you were abandoned by your mates. i told my mates at 16 and they only ever supported me, but i guess i was lucky. my brother was known as a lad that you dont mess with, i think that helped me to be honest to not get bullied. think they realised wait there you can come from a very macho footballer family and for some reason, me the middle son, was gay and not afraid to say.

As a mom of 3 queer kids, your "No Metter What" song hits me hard every time. My husband and I have always been very open, loving and accepting of whoever they are. I made a definite point about that when my husband and I met because I saw the hell & trauma my aunt went through as a lesbian in our (then) devout Catholic family. I NEVER wanted ANYONE to go through what I witnessed her go through since I was a young child. My now husband was of the exact same mindset from the start. It may seem weird to some but literally when our 1st was born we just knew. Even with all the openness, support & love he was still scared to officially "come out" to us....that broke our hearts. He tells is it really wasn't us who were at the heart of his fears....it was society, but that fear was there nonetheless. Us Moms & Dads can love & accept the living sh¡t out of our kids - and that DOES make a BIG difference - BUT society as a whole NEEDS to get with the love & acceptance as well. It's FAR past time..... regardless of who your own kid is....just fu©kin' love & accept people for who they are!!! Why is this so hard for far too many in this day & age???
