We all know that Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom's Mt Sibo Eruption on Isla Nublar pretty much set up the future of the Jurassic franchise for movies such as Jurassic World Dominion, Jurassic World Battle at Big Rock and Jurassic World: The Prologue. But how or why did it explode? Well! Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 5 seemed to have answered exactly that! Check out this awesome theory!

Actually I can see that happening. Both isles are in the ring of fire, a natural hot spot for volcanoes. The earthquake was probably strong enough to collapse a tunnel underground. Thus, a channel of lava is connected from earth back to the volcano.

Eh. Not really. It's well known that Volcanoes can just suddenly become active. And it didn't "Erupt so quickly." It was showing signs of volcanic activity 2 _years_ before it finally erupted. Most volcanoes erupt weeks to months after it shows signs of activity.

@@VelociraptorsOfSkyrim and CC s5 is happening in 2016, 2 years before the eruption and there was an earthquake because of the reactor core there, and it was also felt on Nublar, that must've made the volcano active.

It would explain why it also effected Isla Nublar to have an earthquake after the mantah corp island core became critical and it may have resulted the formation of the volcano in 2017 and erupted in 2018

True and it could explain why it began to erupt on Isla nublar because of mantah corps islands core being critical for a moment before being paired and maybe its what caused the volcano to erupt so critical in 2018

I think that the earthquake was so powerful that it managed to not only wake up mount sibo and erupt by 2018 but also allow lava from the earths cor to brake through the crust and in the volcano

Crazy theory? Nah, I feel pretty confident that this is what the writers were intending. The same thought crossed my mind as I was watching the episodes. It's just such an obvious explanation. I applaud them on adding more details and explanations for events that occur in the movies.

@@Logan_Hall568 An earthquake doesn't always trigger a tsunami. There are often pretty strong Earthquakes in Hawaii and none trigger Tsunamis. For a tsunami to form, there needs to be an underwater landslide or similar large movement of water.

I asked my brother about this he has geologist so he has this to say. Earthquakes are a big cause of eruptions, in March 1980 an earthquake started the events that led to Mt St Helens erupting a few months later. As for the few years that could be explained by the Mantah corp event triggering magma to being to fill the Mt Sibo volcano, if the chamber was large it will take time to fill. This fits as it was a very large eruption, so your theory is very credible. I'm no expert myself but kinda seems accurate.

When I was watching the part where they show the Nothosaurus fighting a BRADX and the bot shot the core, I only predicted that it may cause the island to explode. Next episode it cause earthquakes on the island and I was surprised that the same thing happened at Nublar at the same time. I was like 'wait..are you telling me that 6 campers indirectly caused the Mount Sibo Eruption event in 2018?!' I was mind blown. I know this is a theory but this is why it's nice to have prequels to movies, because we would be given answers to plot holes from the films that wasn't fully explained.

I made this connection as well. Was hoping at the end when Darius was at the computer he had some notes correlating the events he experienced with notes pertaining to the eruption, just as a little extra nugget. Other then the camp kids, the rest of the world would just assume Sibo woke up on its own. I REALLY hope Jurassic franchise follows up with the cast of CC at some point. Loved each of the characters.

When I watched CCS5, as soon as the earthquakes started happening, my whole brain was all 'ohhh this explains the reawakening!' So yeah, within the narrative fiction of Jurassic, it checks out ^^

In my opinion this theory is credible because given the power of the earthquake on isla nublar it is possible. Also when a promotional sheet of the jurassic universe was noted the month of the Camp Cretaceous Season 5 but also it was noted that there will surely be an "interctif episode" following season 5.

This is definitely true! That machine that caused the earthquake could’ve caused the volcano to Erupt! When the earthquake happened I thought the kaiju barogon caused it because barogon can cause earthquakes but it was the nothosaurus that made the brad x shoot electricity at the machine to cause the earthquake this is definitely true the dinosaurs survived and the fallen kingdom comes along nice work!!

Has everyone forgotten when dareis and Ben made a giant explosion at lookout point to distract the Skorpies Rex in season 3? Lookout point was clearly built on top of Mt Sibo, so it could have something to do with Mt Sibo erupting.

Not really. The cause of eruptions happens miles below the Earth's surface. It would have to be such an enormously powerful explosion that the shockwave would have to travel through miles of rock to even have an effect that deep. Said shockwave would have been felt as an earthquake. And such an explosion would have certainly killed Ben and Darius because they were way too close. It would have to be a nuclear explosion and inside the volcano itself to even have a chance of expediting an eruption, and the volcano would have to already be active. The explosion Ben and Darius caused was like throwing a pebble into the ocean and expecting a tsunami to occur. Ain't gonna happen.

alright swrve, i can agree with you, but not 100%. Back in season 3, ben and darius run to Mt. sibo and put some type of explosive. it blows up, and causes a fire. thats what i thought happended.

Unlikable characters, plot armor is high quality, dialogue is all over the place, Kenji fist bumping Toro, how the Barbasol can was found, and the controlling the dinosaurs plot. I mean I am fine with it but not like you can control his arms his legs and all that stuff I like it when they are guided by a laser.

I blame Brad-X for this, and Cash too because he invented that contraption!!! The Nothosaurus is not to be blamed, he's only an animal he doesn't know any better. Some of the dinosaurs from may have been saved, but not all of them survived from the eruption, don't get me started with the Brachiosaurus.

While I agree that the earthquake likely contributed to the eruption, I think the earthquakes would likely have happened anyway. "Dormant" does not mean "extinct." In fact, dormancy generally implies that there has been an eruption in the last 10,000 years or so, and as many have stated, some volcanoes have exhibited sudden explosive activity very quickly after relatively long periods of dormancy. Plus Nublar was mostly powered by geothermal energy, which shows it was still geologically active, even if not actively erupting. The eruption of Sibo was likely a VEI-5 (>1km^3) eruption, or at most a low-end VEI-6 (>10km^3), as we see from the wide shot after the major explosive component of the eruption, the island itself was still intact, and there was still even some remaining vegetation. The eruption also featured a very strange mix of effusive and explosive components. I know you did not state it was a supervolcano, but I have seen some suggest it. If it was even a VEI-7, let alone a true VEI-8 super-eruption, there would not be much, if any of the island above the waterline anymore, and the Arcadia would likely have been destroyed or at least heavily damaged. I apologize for the tangent.
