Learn Japanese with Tanaka san

Жыл бұрын

Have you ever felt like Egg-san, comparing yourself to others and losing confidence or motivation? I think we all have. When you open the social media, there's always someone better than you. No one will win the comparison game.
It's hard to stop comparing yourself to others, but it means that you have something you care about or you're working hard on. And when you compare yourself to past self, I'm sure you've made much progress.
Hope this video will be a small reminder that you don't need to rush, and that you can keep on going at your own pace 🪴Thank you for watching this video.

I’m Japanese and an international student in the U.S. I’m working on campus. Today I was depressed and felt miserable because my co-workers were fluent in English while I was speaking like a child. But my boss hired me anyway. That means I have strengths other than my English ability. Thanks to you, I decided to focus on my good sides and grow them rather than feeling bad. Again, thank you for the awesome videos. 私は日本人でアメリカ留学中でキャンパスで働いています。同僚はペラペラなのに自分の英語は子どもみたいで情けないって思っちゃって今日本当に落ち込んでいました。でも、この英語力でも雇われたってことは他の強みがあるって事だし、それを活かしていこうと思いました。素敵な動画をありがとうございます。

These are words of wisdom that apply to all aspects of life, not just language learning: Focus on what you have not what you lack. And remind yourself you used to have fun doing what you're stressing about now. Thanks Tanakasan for this thoughtful video ❤️

Tanaka San, are you okay ? Don't cry alone hehe . It's tiring somehow learning this and that, I'm into situation too. Sometimes (always) has thought why we are so far from others and start comparing everything with others. Don't give up everyone !! Your efforts will paid off one day. And God knows very well how you work hard for this or anything you do. One day you wanna cry alone and don't want to do anything. Hopeless feeling. It's okay, tomorrow ...you can get back on track! Tanaka san, your video teaches me a lot! Arigatou !

このビデオを作ってくれて本当にありがとうございます!!m(_ _)m I just traveled to Japan after not taking any Japanese lessons for 8 years. My friend who went with me has passed the JLPT N2, and I felt so inadequate compared to her. I thought it was so embarrassing that I could only speak at a child's level while she could have complex conversations about business and academic topics. This video reminded me why I want to learn Japanese and how I can embrace my strengths! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is such a good video! To stop myself from comparing to others, I started a new KZfaq channel documenting my own tiny daily progress. The ONLY person I compare myself to is my older self. Even if I just got the pitch accent of Konnichiwa better than I did yesterday, that is a WIN! Today I just posted a short video about how to speak Japanese better than PewDiePie featuring this channel here. Anyone else who is discouraged by your own slow progress, feel free to copy my system of constant output for just 10 mins a day. It really works!

What's interesting here is that the creator named the paper ペラペラさん. But in reality, the movement of paper when you hold and gently shake it, it's also called ペラペラ. A thin and flat thing making some jiggly noise when you shake, so not just ''speaking fluently''.

3:49 SHEEH! Thank you for this video. I'm still in the early stages, I haven't started on kanji yet and I worry about things not sticking (but I know now that I just need to be more consistent with my studies). I made friends with another artist last year who happens to be Japanese, but in order to converse at all I have to use a translator (which I check thoroughly so nothing gets confused at all). I was honest about that, but unfortunately I can't just stop using it because then I wouldn't be able to talk at all. How do you think I can turn this into a learning experience? Because I know that just translating sentences isn't great for learning because you aren't learning the structure or grammar.
@SiimKoger
@SiimKoger Жыл бұрын
Actually, if you translate a sentence to another language with a translator then you can learn from it over time. Look at the sentence that the translator outputs for you and think about how much do you understand. Do you recognize a word? Do you recognize sentence structure? Do you recognize the tenses/conjugations/pronouns/or whatever features a specific language has. In the beginning you probably understand nothing. Start with being to able to read the alphabet (hiragana/katakana in Japanese case). Then start learning basic words from the sentences that you made up yourself (not the random " ⭐ TOP 250 JAPANESE WORDS" from some webpage). Then after some time start to question why is this word like this and like that? Then after some time try to say/write sentences from your head as much as you can even if it's only a single word. And repeat. Build on it.
