The universities definitely have grown a lot for the last 2 decades. Universities not built to education Canada does not need to exist. It’s not the responsibility of Canada to educate the world, if we have no space for foreigners so be it. They just don’t come.

I would like to clarify that one of the main reasons Canada recruits international students is because they pay non-regulated tuition fees (on average 1.5-3 times more than local students) and it is a profitable business for the universities. The government's long history of underfunding educational institutions has led to this situation, and universities have been compelled to enroll international students in order to subsidize their budgets...

That would work if Canada did recognize foreign Diplomas. When my parents came to Canada from Brazil, my father gave up on his masters in Architecture to become a drywaller, so my Mom could go to UoT and get her masters in Psychology again, but here in Canada. Typically if you are settled here in Canada, and your spouse is highly educated, they need to go back to school to get their diploma renewed

@@andrewolf9865Not anymore because a lot of foreigners are now hiring managers so they feel bad for the newcomers. My managers all feel bad for newcomers because he once was a newcomer himself. I think the job always should be given to the most qualified.

Biggest problem is that international students can bring their spouse.parents and siblings on visitor visa while they are on study permits.many international students bring their spouse over started having kids while they are on work permits or study permits.

Yeah, they purposely do that so their kids can be "Canadian citizens" - if that's the case the kids should inherit the citizenship of their parents and be sent back home when it comes time for them to go back.

International students move to places where they can find jobs. Maybe if the Canadian Government would invest in creating more employment opportunities outside of GTA, other parts of Ontario would prosper and local Colleges and Universities would see more International students. Contrary to popular belief, most of the international students are not rich, and are dependent on the 50% work permit, and thus they will not come to a place that has a shortage of available low level positions. Government should incentivize major employers to open shop outside of GTA. Everybody will win.

Blaming international students for the housing crisis is pretty unfair even if it's implicitly stated. Go look at any real estate website and there are thousands of homes for sale throughout Canada. IF the homes seem ludicriously over priced, then whose fault is that ? Probably local sellers and agents.
