When i was in 6th one of my friends dad lost his kids and he threared to shoot up the school we went on lock down and missed lunch and then he comes in and he doesnt shoot but he got shot by cops and that dad was terrifying to think my dad and my uncle were friends with him that he used to work with my uncle when my dad left it scared me

Emotional scars never fully heal. They will get very close to being closed, but open just enough to still feel pain with certain topics or times of the year. That’s normal. If emotional scars heal all the way then you’re not allowing your body to feel emotions correctly. This is something that will affect and hurt them and probably cause ptsd for a lifetime.

I’m hurt for hailey so bad I know how hard it is not to go through something so traumatic as this but to feel as though you don’t have the right to be affected by it because someone else went through it worse. Someone told me a thing I remember which helped a bit which was just because someone had their arm amputated doesn’t mean that your broken one doesn’t hurt. This is about you and your feelings and if you’re hurt then you can get help and support and you’re allowed to not be ok after it xx

there was a shooting at my school, i was there when it happened and heard the gunshots, and the same day it happened was the day i left for jamfest and competed that weekend. cheer was definitely an escape and this resonates with me so much it’s crazy

I've been through a school shooting as well, I was at the campus during it and its so hard to get better, but counseling helps. Unfortunately you won't go back to how you were but you will become stronger and more aware. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Haily, i use to work at hume lake for a few summers. I just want you to know that everyone at hume lake and for those no longer there are praying for you, your school & everyone lost in this. I live in near the Saugus shooting I came to school with everyone around on there phones looking at the news and was just shocked at what I was hearing a shooting in my city where I thought would never happen and to have it about 15 minutes away from my school was scaring the sadness and fear people where in at that time will never be forgotten Saugus strong 💙💙💙

Poor Ilsee. She's waited so long to do cirque and hearing she starts in April and that it's on a cruise, I know she isn't getting to do it anytime soon as of now. I believe most all cruise lines in the US have canceled through April 30th. 😭

I was in third grade when this happened and my school was really really close to Saugus and actually right up from it and there was js a fence separating us and it was very scary when this happened bc we also didn’t know if they were going to try and come and get us we heard all the police cars and everything it was very scary and my friends sister actually did pass from this so it’s very sad

Serious question. If someone was not actually there for the occurrence of a tragedy, are they still a survivor of the tragedy? Or is it more so that they suffered a loss? Can someone please answer this?

As a survivor of a mass shooting yes even though people that I know weren’t in the same place that’s I was in my whole community was affected even though she wasn’t at school that day all the emotions came to her because her friend that she was close to passed she’s still a survivor in my eyes

I think for her it definitely still is a possibility because they could feel guilt because as she said she was running late that day, she might feel like she was supposed to be there and wasnt because of that
