Manufacturing & foreign investment have fled China & went to Mexico, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, India & Indonesia. Nobody wants to transact business with the Beijing market getting so busy on border encursion with neighbors & sea disputes with an ever expanding Dashline claims. That's the root cause of China's dysfunctional economic model.

They will fix it, by manipulating the statistics and squashing any criticism until there is consensus. Their recovery is a foregone conclusion

After living in china for 10 years and watching news about china daily, I disagree with what he is saying. China's economy IS in crisis. Apple is supplied by Foxconn, which is moving to India. Other companies are doing the same. Unemployment for people under 30 is well Ober 20%, and growing. Foreign companies and their money is moving out of china at an astounding rate. There are millions of people revolting against the government due to unpaid wages, banks going broke. And on and on.

also. china became the largest ev exporter, and even on a down year. chinese GDP is 5.2 percent. vs 2.5 percent in the u.s and thats with u.s printing TRILLIONS. You do the math. Its like chinese getting an B on a report card getting scolded because the expectation are so damn high, the while u.s gets an open book test and scored a C+ and lauded.

@levelazn China GDP is nowhere near that high. Don't believe what their government says. Evergrand and the other building companies are in debt and collapsing, and that is 25% of the economy. how could the GDP grow that fast?

China’s recent history of illegal wars, occupations, regime change, and proxy wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc, are indeed a cause for concern.

Political systems like the CCP can only work in a poor uneducated country. If they want to become a powerful developed nation the level of education and the legal system must be changed...but that will change the political reality. For some years China will print and use its monopoly money for internal circulation. However, in order to have a sustainable circulation they must make ordinary people feel more secure. The structure with fake GDP based on unprofitable investments must be redirected into more sustainable sectors. Like production efficiency, social welfare and rural development. Is that possible in an authoritarian system that is based on perception and not real performance and ability ? Maybe not, officials will not take the necessary initiative but hide behind the official policies. However, as long as the export can give income to cover the basic needs for food, energy and raw materials society can continue to function and China will stagnate and most likely regress to past economy but it may not collapse.

Why are most democratic countries poor? Capitalism works in China because the one party system allows its economy to dictate production and pricing. The Chinese economy is based off of the German socialist market economy- a mixture of private and state owned enterprises.

China will not do anything different than what they have already done that has put them in this situation. They will simply try to extend the ethereal economy that they have. They are doing the same thing that the US is doing as well as the Europeans. The world economy has been driven by ethereal wealth. It's wealth based on Fiat currency. That time is going to come to an end one way or another. The countries that participate in this system will do their best to extend it as long as they can, but they will not be able to prevent the inevitable.

Why was China erased from Western memory The remarkable history of Chinese invention - Why was China erased from Western memory? Article by 龙信明 Introduction Joseph Needham was an English medical doctor and biologist, teaching in England in the 1930s. By an accident of fate he acquired some Chinese students, and was intrigued to hear their claims of so many medical and scientific discoveries having originated in China, rather than in the West. Needham became fully fluent in Chinese, and eventually moved to China in 1942 to investigate these claims and to research the entire history of Chinese invention. That work led to an astonishing voyage of historical discovery. Needham originally planned to write a book cataloguing Chinese inventions, but his first volume barely scratched the surface of his subject. He slowly gatherred many of his students into this enterprise, and they eventually wrote a collection of 26 books, to catalog the history of Chinese discovery. Myth and Misrepresentation It leaves one speechless to learn the vast extent of things invented by the Chinese many hundreds of years, and often several millennia, before they appeared in the West. IP Theft Is What Once Helped Make America Great That was certainly the case for the United States. The practice of grabbing intellectual property was a staple of U.S. economic strategy since the outset of the nation’s founding. The play Hamilton has brought new and deserved respect to the first secretary of the treasury. But his many economic achievements should not blind us to the fact that theft of intellectual property was a linchpin of his manufacturing strategy. RealClearMarkets

'Wake-Up Call': China Leads in 37 Out of 44 Critical Technology Sectors, Says Report The Australian Strategic Policy Institute has pointed out that only seven of the 44 technologies analysed by its report are currently led by a democratic country, 'and that country in all instances is the US.' The Wire Staff Mar 09, 2023 New Delhi: China is far ahead of even the United States in conducting cutting-edge research in most critical technologies, especially in defence, space and security, a new report by a top Australian think tank has found. In the report published on March 2, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute shows that China has “built the foundations to position itself as the world’s leading science and technology superpower, by establishing a sometimes stunning lead in high-impact research across the majority of critical and emerging technology domains”.
