Yes, it makes sense. Adverse childhood events, multiple injuries, unattended injuries, chronic nervous system disregulation, depression, preoccupation, trauma, and so on.

Great video with lots of good info. Need to sit with it to absorb its implications. I would like some more explanation on sensitization trauma. Not sure I am understanding it clearly. Thanks. I appreciate your help.

Very helpful, thank you Tanner. I guess some of these can overlap? I get into obsessive thinking (e.g. health anxiety) over MBS-related symptoms, which in a sense itself becomes a "traumatic" event. Its frustrating, because deep down I know its "just MBS" but I cant seem to prevent myself from obsessing, catastrophizing, hyper-vigilance etc. So its like sensitization trauma and obsessive thinking combined, and for good measure when all this happens my already high levels of floating anxiety (GAD since my 20s) morphs into depression (and dissociation). Like a triple whammy. I'm pretty good with the somatic exercises, and mindfulness. Not so straightforward how to approach emotional processing (ACEs score is also sky high btw). So its like 4 or 5 of this list, all intertwined, and while I get "why?"....its a bit confusion "where to start" but my deeper sense is to start with calming the ANS. Your videos are very helpful, thank you.

So sorry to hear what you have gone through. Yes, it is often a combination of factors. I can definitely take some exploring to find the best healing work to be doing. I wish you the best in your healing.

@@painpsychotherapy Thanks. Yes, willing to experience it, including the frustration and confusion at times, and willing to explore different healing work. I think as long as its focused on calming the ANS . Mindfulness of body and somatic work are particularly interesting to me atm.

Hej Tanner, do you know if even food intolerances can appear (later on in life) as a result of a disregulated nervous system? Thank you

Yes, I have seen this occur for people, of course it is important to get physical causes ruled out.

Hello Tanner! So to heal your trauma you basically used only somatic experiencing and polyvagal theory? We can heal from trauma by ourself using those techniques or we need some therapist to help us to heal from trauma?

This is what I used personally and also when working with clients. It varies person to person on if someone needs to work with a therapist or can utilize the strategies on there own.
