😊 thank you I'm new to this I know I was diagnosed with two herniations in my spine and two disc issues because I was having a lot of burning in my spine and tightness Physical Therapy helped then just two weeks after I was pain free I tried a new chiropractor and I felt pain after I saw him it's been going on for 6 months now the same symptoms that I had before burning and a lot of tightness and stiffness cuz I haven't moved my spine much and I'm trying to move my spine im a little bit more flexible but still really tight and burning I believe some of it is neuroplasticity any other part is real herniations and the real discomfort that they can cause but not sure why it's taken 6 months to heal before took 3 months to heal not sure if I'm aggravating the discs more by trying to stretch the spine cuz I'm so tight

Was wondering if you have any advice. I have been in chronic pain for years but the last few months by following these principles i have pretty much been pain free but the last few days i have gone into a flare again. I've been working hard to give myself messages of safety and try to think all the right things but it's like my brain has done the exact opposite and it's got worse not better! It's hard not to get frustrated but i am trying to stay to calm, just don't understand why it's got worse when I've been doing so well?

This makes me feel so seen and understood. Literally my symptoms became the trauma.therapist, doctors, coaches, have all failed me and adds to the trauma of feeling like there is no hope or way through. The gaslighting is the worst. I dont care about my childhood or things in the past, which I know were the root of the symptoms but the symptoms became the most traumatic thing to me. They took my life from me and I had no freakn clue how to change this. How do we begin to heal that?
@painpsychotherapy21 сағат бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. Sensitization trauma really is terrible as I know from experience. How we heal from this is complex and involves processing the onset and progression of the symptoms. I will do a full length video on this soon. I wish you the best in your healing.

Wow that was intense. First part had my heart beating fast, the second part I broke down and cried. I have so many bad memories from a deeply unhappy marriage it was easy to choose, and the emotion it brought out in me was very strong. The last part calmed me and I actually was able to smile, although I am crying as I write this. Thank you for helping me so much - your course is of great interest to me. Thank you to both of you.

@@painpsychotherapy The practice was incredibly helpful, it allowed me to release pent up emotions. The second time I did it, my reaction was the total opposite, I was in control of my feelings and able to put past bad memories behind me. I now feel much more connected with my inner self. Your videos have been helping me so much and I Thank you from the bottom of my heart for them. And i wanted to ask something. I practice meditation, mindfulness, safety messages as much as i can but although i feel better i still struggle to play the piano, ( right arm neuroplastic symptoms). What does it mean if a low dose of xanax allows me to focus and play the piano with almost absolutely no symptoms? It just confirms that the issues come from inner tension and worry , right? I take it very rarely, but still, confused as to why i can't achieve the same by myself.

I'm so glad my content is helpful. This could occur for several reasons and it is difficult for me to say over social media. Generally it could indicate how the pain is connected to the nervous system state.
@michalishillides395620 сағат бұрын
@painpsychotherapy okay so must reset the nervous system. I assume medication, and vagal nerve simulators as well as deep breathing are ways to achieve this ? Including ofcourse somatic tracing? How else could I be in contact with you. I understand it is difficult for yo through a comment. But would appreciate the reply.

I'm so glad that someone is talking about calmness vs safety. I have been mentioning this in a recovery group myself. I'm not sure that I got my point across very well, but I recognised early on that focusing on safety is much more useful. Chronic overwhelm is thing for me. Everything gets big in my head and swirls around endlessly. In those moments I now name what I am feeling out loud 'OK I am feeling overwhelmed (angry/whatever/ fill in the blank). What can I do (if anything) to help this sensation and make myself feel safe whilst doing so?' This sentence puts me back into control mode. Usually this involves looking at the great big to do list, prioritising what really needs to happen right now, and adjusting my attitude around the rest. Most of it isn't life or death, so it can wait. I then try to get present in the moment and remind myself that I am safe right now. I am at home, I have food, a bed, nothing life threatening is happening etc, it's all good. I take a deep breath, get back into my body, focus on the important stuff and then go and relax.

Hi Tanner, thanks again for your video(s). I was hoping you could either post a video or write about the following: how to regain strength and stamina after having been sedentary for (in my case 2) years? I've noticed my most dominant symptom (knee pain) has been decreasing in the past weeks, so I started moving more (e.g. in stead of 10-15 mins walk I'd go for 20-30 mins, or 2 x 15 a day). However, it seemed to have triggered an achilles injury. I'm aware that chronic pain can move around the body, but in this case it really seems like a 'normal' injury considering its behavior. I've had this a couple of times before. And it makes me wonder how the hell can I ever move more and gain more strength without triggering an injury? It feels like my body has become so weak/non-resilient that every bit of extra movement takes its toll from another body part. Do you have any strategy or advice on this? or any other viewer here on the channel?

True after corona lock down is over I had a fear for driving the scooter my body will jerk when I hear the sound of the ambulance, couldn't go to gym fearing I might fall in the treadmill, couldn't climb or get down the esculator, but I challenged myself I can do it iam completely alright and i became normal. Again this is the second phase iam going through after two longs years break thankfully seeing your video it came into light iam going through the same pain but in a different form. The stratagies taught in the video is really helpful and thanks once again for helping us in healing.
