The common blue damselfly is exactly what its name suggests: common, and blue. But how do they stay that way, when their lifespan is just 12 days, and predators lurk in every lake?
Besides their fearless flying and near-360-degree vision, damselflies are fierce fighters. They attack larger dragonflies to ensure their offspring - so-called nymphs - will survive underwater. And when it comes to mating season, they’re not short of a trick or two…
