Thx Simon for an informative and entertaining video as usual. FWIW I worked on the tail feathers of the black bird in '70s which were skinned in titanium. I was always amazed at the rainbow of colors the white hot exhaust heat created on the external skins when the coatings were removed. My Ducati Pike's Peak Mutley has reminiscent rainbow on it's Akropovic exhaust + the booming sound. Cheers.

Just FYI Honda and supposedly Aprilia not here because they use SC Project exhaust, to add even with their recent success in the 2010's the most successful exhaust is not Akrapovič but Termignoni (2010 (Yamaha), 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016 (Honda)) follow by SC Project (2017, 2018, 2019 (Honda)) with Akrapovič on 2 (2012 and 2015 (Yamaha))

From carburetor to fuel injection , exhaust systems have changed a lot for both performance and EPA street Decibel restrictions . I have watched and marveled at the amount of performance gas engines have come to in todays motorcycles .

great video ! i have akra on my motorcycle and valve system. its develloped with the db killer in mind and i didn't have for a long time. now i have added it it's better feeling on gas throttle. you feel the precision and if something is not here, it act not the same !

As a motorsport fan, its finally fantastic the see an article for the part of a race motor that provides that audio ecstasy that induces goosebumps. Without the audio assault that motorsport brings to the spectator, it would be like watching nan ride down the road to buy a loaf of bread.

i thought a lot about exhausts and it makes no sense that they dont at least make a section of the body work out of aluminium or part of the exhaust itself all the way from the front of the bike to the back of the bike to heat up the air that moves down the side of the bike. Especially when cornering to speed up the air at high lean angles and reduce buffeting.

Reposl are working together for developing a synthetic fuel. Honda plans to run their bikes with 40% synthetic fuel from '24. I hope that's a "saviour".

There is plenty of gas. Hydrogen engines are nearly identical to the ones we have now already. Bikers won't buy e scooters. Just cars alone there is enough of them on this planet for everyone to have five or six each. It's not green to mine batteries and they don't last long. Relax it's not over and won't ever be.

Hmmm, and all this time I’ve been pronouncing it “Ack-Ra-Poe-Vitch”. Don’t I feel like a dummy. Very very nice, high end exhausts. I have a 2018 Triumph Street Triple though and their exhaust for those is hideous so I went with a Yoshimura. The Striple comes factory with a nice, modern low slung exhaust and that’s what I want and think looks best but the Ackra exhaust for the Striples is a huge 1990’s looking thing that comes all the way up to the rear passenger peg. 🤢🤮 I really wanted an Austin racing pipe but they’re just way out of my budget.

A single cylinder is just a small V4 or any multi cylinder engine, so why do the Moto3 bikes have single into 2 systems (obviously for out put) ? All the 4 cylinder bikes have 4 into 2 except Yamaha has 4 into 1 & we all know that the Yamie is 50 hp less on the others! Wouldn't it be better if they had 8 pipes?
