In the game Batman told Damian “You’re dead to me.” It really shows how much he cared for Dick Grayson.

When Dick dies, the villains was like "oh shit.."

The funniest thing, is that Bruce lost way more than Clark. He lost his parents, three sons, his foster parent, his cousin, most of his most trusted friends and allies…. And yet, he doesn’t give in like Clark. That’s one of the reasons why i admire Batman.

Damian: It was an accident. Batman, red hood, and starfire: You don't just knock out your adopted brother by throwing a rod at his head causing him to break his neck and call it an accident, if anything your birth was an accident.

Batman has always been someone with very little emotional reaction. Always calm and calculated. Some would say cold, but at the same time, trustworthy. There is always very rare occassions where Batman will let out his emotion, specifically sadness. Watching his adopted son killed by his biological son is one of them. Nightwing was the son he needed. He kept him grounded. Nightwing is one of the very few that can challenge Batman's action and make him rethink said action. Watching him get killed reverted Batman back to the emotions of when his parents were killed in front of him. It is a tragedy.

A lot of people are trying to remove the responsibility of Dick's death from Damian by insisting on the accident. But while he didn't mean for Nightwing to break his neck, he DID throw a stick at Nightwing's head. That action was intended. SO while the death IS accidental, Damian is still wholly at fault.

The fact Bruce considered Dick his son is heartwarming indeed. Makes it so heartbreaking he died the way he did! 😭

I love Starfire’s dialogue with Red hood when she’s talking about Nightwing in Injustice 2 because it shows that Jason really cared about Dick. Jason’s been more of a brother to Dick than Damian has. Red Hood: “Grayson used to gush about you” Starfire: “I still miss him everyday” Red Hood: “Show me what impressed him so much” -One of their intro quotes.

I can see why Damien sees it as an accident. Since Nightwing was telling him to calm down, Damien probably thought Nightwing had his attention on him at the time and was expecting something like that. I'm siding with Batman on this one though, because Damien should know better than to pull something like that in the middle of a massive fight.

What I think is that this shouldn't have been the way to kill off such a badass character.

On one hand Damian wasn’t trying to kill his adopted brother, but on the other hand he lost his temper and completely killed him. Even if he did it by accident you could face a heavy jail sentence.

Nightwing in my eyes was the best robin and the most badass. But even if it was an accident Damion still shouldn't have done that. With that being said he still felt guilty in injustice and becomes Nightwing and if you beat brainiac as Damion Wayne robin than it is revealed that in an effort to save his son batman sacrifices his life. After Damion realizes that Bat loved him despite Damion's hate for Bruce he becomes the new batman. I respect that

Even aside from Damian being a constant pain in the ass, fighting Batman, and being the child of Talia's sick intentions, the fact that he killed Dick Grayson will forever make me hate this character.

This shows that family is not always determined by blood. Dick was adopted but was a much more appreciative and better son than Damian ever was in injustice.

I never liked Damian. One of the first Jason Todd stories I ever read had Jason possibly having pushed a rapist to his death when the law stated the man was untouchable due to diplomatic immunity. It was never implicitly stated if he did it or not. As a kid, I was shocked, but intrigued with where they'd take him as a character. Reading "A Death in the Family" was one of the most gut-wrenching and heart breaking comics I'd ever read. Jason, with all his flaws, was deeply human and cared deeply too; a lot of his anger and rebelliousness came out of having lost so much, living rough on the streets. He was complex. Damian, on the other hand, is all entitlement and anger for the point of the writers wanting him to be edgier. He's a brat, and we're expected to cheer when some glimmer of humanity finally shines through. To compensate for his terrible personality, the writers write him as though he's an expert fighter that is possibly above par of the rest of the other Robin's, which is infuriating since Batman has defeated many of the League of Assassin's best fighters in hand to hand combat, (not easily, but he has), and has been the primary tutor for Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, and to an extent, Stephanie Brown, in martial arts. Compound this with the size, weight, and age advantage those Robins have and Damian's abilities fall clearly under Mary Sue territory, or "The writers wanted me to be a badass, so I am... deal with it". Some people had a problem when they saw this version of Damian kill Dick through what could almost be interpreted as an accident. But I thought it fit perfectly. He's a shallow character, and in a moment of frustration, he does what Damian always does as an entitled, spoiled, tantrum ridden teen: he lashes out the people who care about him. Lets be clear: when you throw a dangerous weapon at someone with full force, you mean to cause them harm. "I thought they'd catch it" or "I thought they'd dodge" is pure denial of YOUR OWN inability to accept responsibility for your actions. That's pure Damian Wayne. 'It's DICK's fault, he didn't catch it like he was supposed to'. I've seen some people feel sorry for him on their comments, which is ok. But Damian being sorry for what he did isn't the same as not being guilty for your actions. There's a lot of people locked up in jail who are sorry, but it doesn't change the crime they committed. Damian got off easy in my opinion; Batman has locked up people for a lot less than what Damian had done, sorry or not. Being disowned was almost a mercy.

Grayson was my favorite Robin. I have always loved the originals. I can't believe that the writers thought that killing Dick was a good idea, by Batman's own son of all people. Dick was trying to help Damain too. Damain was too overpowered to begin with. He was just asking to be hated. I can't even make the connection of how a loved superhero like Batman ended up with a son like that. In the end, I am on Batman's side.

Damian was a child, he ought to have known better, and he has to bear that. I sympathize with him, no one expected Dick to go in such a mundane way- accidentally, like any other human, but that's kind of the point. Ultimately it's Superman's fault for giving in to his darker impulses. I know the argument, but Joker won when he failed to rise above it. When the shining exemplar of all that is just and good goes on a killing spree, it's not surprising when the brash violent youths follow suit.

Yeah, the logic is pretty simple on this one. Ask any martial artist; You can't take back a strike once it's been made. This especially is true for all practitioners of weapons, particularly swordsman, archers, professional shooters, you name it... it's the first fundamental lesson you ever learn when practising these disciplines. You'd think an experienced fighter like Damien would've been told this over and over, he probably has been. But then again, Damien is who he is because that's his character; he's always quick to blame others and slide past responsibility.

In the canon comics, I don't hate Damian NOW, but in the Injustice universe, I despise him. Believe it or not, Damian HAS a heart. He just grew up in a way that made him seem like a brat. Now, in the canon comics that is, he's a good kid (but still sometimes acts like a brat). In the Injustice universe however, he's just so angry and incredibly annoying :/

I think it was Damian's fault. Regardless if he thinks it was an accident or not, he still has always been resentful towards Dick, he let his temper get in the way of what's right and doing the right thing. And he threw a weapon at his own ally and step brother, and he did so intentionally, it doesn't matter if he thought Dick was going to dodge it, he should have known that Dick had his mind on other things and wouldn't be able to dodge his weapon like he has before. I don't care if Dick thinks it was an accident, and tells Bruce as such. To me, it's Damian's fault.

It IS Damian's fault. But he's also... well... ten years old. Or was ten years old at the time. And he's Bruce's son. You can't just turn your back on your own son. But you also can't go around throwing steel rods at your step-brother. And that's the point. While the games were mostly portrayed black and white, the Injustice comics showed a more gray area. Batman surely is fighting in the name of freedom and what's normally considered "right" and "heroic" but he's also got his own imperfections and his sense of justice can be twisted at times. And he's never been that great of a father to his sons. Even Dick Grayson had ups and downs with him, and he was the favorite.

It shows how good a person nightwing is that even after Damian killed him, accidentally or not he still chose to watch over him after becoming the new dead man and wanted him to become the next nightwing even going as far as giving him his suit. Meanwhile Bruce couldn't even bring himself to forgive Damian.

I kinda weird way for him to die. Would have honestly figured it would have been something along the lines of “Damien was blinded by rage and was about to drive his sword into a villains chest, but nightwing stepped in front of him hoping to stop him, but Damien didn’t and ran him through with the blade killing him and the villain”. Not him getting bonked on the head and falling and breaking his neck like that scene in scary movie 4.

One of Damian's flaws was he never seemed to get his anger in check, with that much rage and hatred in you're heart, it takes precedence over rationality. Yes it was still his fault that Nightwing died, but end of the situation it could have been avoided had Damian gotten the help he desperately needed

Of all of the adopted sons of Bruce Wayne, Grayson was Damian's favorite... period. The reason the Injustice writers wrote the death of Grayson this way was to create a jarring moment between Damian and Bruce, as well as to fracture the paternal bond. Damian taking on the Nightwing mantle after the accidental death of Grayson, by his own hand, is a coping mechanisms for his guilt. You can tell by the way he speaks in the game he's looking for atonement. The hate this kid gets is similar to what I remember Jason use to get when he was Robin but the reasons are different for Damian. His arrogance, his sense of entitlement, the disregard of his father's moral code all push him away from what the ideal son should be for Bruce/Batman. The real problem with the readers is that they tend to ignore all the factors that make up Damian's behavior and how his relationships with the Bat family is molding him. Remember that he is 10 YEARS OLD, remember that he was raised by the LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS, remember that his only male influence before his introduction into the Bat family was RA'S AL GHUL, remember that his mother is TALIA AL GHUL. This kid's mind is warped from the get go. Even with that being the case, it's intriguing to see him deal with the conflict between his paternal and maternal houses. The easy way, a.k.a. lazy way, is to development the character to his doom or exile but the best way, in my opinion, would be for him to come into his own like Jason did. I wouldn't want him to splinter into another persona like Red Hood or Nightwing. It would make better sense for him to champion the Robin mantle because it holds the title of Prince to the Batman's King role of the family.

I'm honestly on no ones side here Obviously Damian was not thinking straight because of his anger and he also does seem to be not good at thinking ahead (not that anyone really is, if they have massive anger issues and go into a rage). His story is probably a mix of him telling the truth and simply trying to find an explanation after doing something without thinking. Batmans side is of course also very understandable, being dissappointed by his son not listening to his lectures or caring for his philosophy and then having to experience the same son kill his other son, who did understand his mentality. I don't support Damians way of thinking, but he clearly never meant to kill Dick.

You missed a very important part. The reason Damian threw the stick at Dick is because when they train together, Dick always catches it when Damian tries to do that. But as this was a real fight, Dick was not prepared and Damian actually thought Dick would catch it instead of it hitting him. He never let this guilt go. This all leads to a separate story arch for Damian where he becomes the new Nightwing and is given the costume by Dick Grayson/Deadman.
