So many good points made! 1) R. Kelly does have rawer, less “sexy” lyrics in contrast to other R&B artists. How much of his work was actually “genius” vs being predator music with a good melody and beat? 2) Black folk do struggle with admitting facts about R. Kelly and other predators. Cognitive dissonance anyone? We did not HANG this dude after those Boondocks & Chapelle episodes. We just “laughed.” 3) R. Kelly’s target listening group is definitely not “for” ladies. It’s for dudes in basketball shorts. He sings about women, not to them. 4) It is a tinier fact to point out whether he did write all his collaborative songs despite his lack of literacy. It is reasonable to assume he used recordings and voice memos. 5) People who have sex with minors - whether the child pursues it or not - are, in fact, losers for taking advantage of a such an inappropriate sexual “opportunity.” 6) Humans do have a pathetic relationship with holding predators accountable and respectably supporting/protecting victims. Ask yourself how long it took things to boil over before the MeToo movement pushed forward? (Regardless of how one feels about how the movement was handled) The Catholic Church priest scandal? Look how often we make sport of victimizing women after they come forward, opting instead for allegiance to patriarchal politics? We are not pro women, pro black women, pro safety of children *before* the violation occurs. We sometimes talk a good game but collectively the human race and subsequent communities have failed too consistently in these categories.
@kanikagaral7637
@kanikagaral7637 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with all of these points. Ots possible to write songs. If not voice memo he could have asked someone to write while he dictated the lyrics to thwm. We r ad a society dont hold predators especially child predators accountable. And especially if we k ow and like or respect them.

@agonleed3841
@agonleed3841 2 жыл бұрын
women tend to think more mature. you're thinking in the sense of can he be who you want whole. most people in those dynamics are just being physical. and MANY 20something ye olds are still younger and more active for whatever reason. physically most of them are more attractive.
@Rhekon
@Rhekon 2 жыл бұрын
@@agonleed3841 there's a bit of a leap here from women being more mature on average to everything else you said. I think maybe you meant they prefer more mature partners, which may or may not be true; I haven't done the research. Biology is potentially a factor given the time limit for females to reproduce successfully. Men can always practice procreation but the risk of impregnating a woman doesn't necessarily diminish with age right? All that said, I think most people prefer someone at or around their level of maturity, but one can theoretically have a purely [and hopefully legal and consenting] sexual encounter. One night stands lol. You don't have to have those with people you'd fall for or even people you like enough to talk to. It could even be an ex you no longer wish to be serious with or someone who just seems to have way too much energy but always puts out.

For anyone who is pissed about the joke, remember that its a joke and that he is just being contrarian. Its a method that some comedians employ to predict crowd reactions, usually by highlighting an opinion that goes against the common one. Its highly likely that this joke was crafted to illicit the reaction it does (you can clearly tell he anticipates the crowd to disagree with him). Don't come down here and start complaining about how you disagree with the opinion given IN A JOKE. Its just joke fodder and you're playing the fool by being upset about it. If you take everything too seriously, nothing is comedy.
