I mean, they never said "shot with only an iPhone", they just said "shot with iPhone". If someone said "I shot that on a RED", I wouldn't say "oh, they didn't need lights, or mics, or cranes, or gimbals, editing, etc", I would be like "oh, the camera was a RED"

Exactly! There is definitely an argument that can be made that the average consumer could be misled into thinking that's all you need to achieve that look, but the cinema camera comparison I feel makes this pretty clear it's not just the case for smartphones

@@DesignedbyKirk I literally don't think that any average consumer is going to think their phone can fly and take aerial footage...but you never can tell with people. They also released a BTS showing what was necessary in order to achieve those results. If someone thinks they can recreate this with just their phone and its built in flash...well, I mean, a fool and their money, I guess, they can always return it when they see obviously you can't.

That being said, with a shower curtain, a lamp, some planning, and a little hard work (and some KZfaq tutorials on Davinci Resolve), you could make something that could look really really impressive.

You sure can! A lot you surely can do with these devices that’s for sure, imagination can almost only be the limit these days

@@DesignedbyKirk exactly, I look at this and think of like today's Steven Spielberg or Robert Rodriguez, instead of a Super 8, he has an iphone. As long as the creativity, and the desire to tell a story is there, I think we are at a point where most people can get access to something they can use to tell that story. I especially think the iPhone is super useful because a lot of people might not be interested in film, or color grading, but this and the black magic camera app are like a gateway into that world.

I was expecting Apple will brought back the old event style, but ended still using that new style since 2020 Which personally, kinda not as immersive and feeling touched as the old version 😅

Maybe I've misinterpreted what you said, but the term still stands, it was Shot on an iPhone. Same how movies are "Shot on an Alexa" or "Shot on Red" etc... I'd argue it's not extremely vague, especially considering they posted behind the scenes content showcasing how it was shot. A much better alternative compared to perhaps if they made the statement at the end of the event, and didn't share any details

Yes exactly! In my opinion all these terms fall under the same kind of ''misleeading' category of marketing, because I believe that if this video has taught me something, it's that in order to make something Truly Cinematic, You need alot of gear, and camera is not one of them @@DesignedbyKirk
