I'll admit, I didn't like how Ty was racing other drivers earlier in the season in the Xfinity series, but I really did gain a lot of respect for him, how hard and clean he raced Noah, despite their history. He could have easily dumped Noah, going for the win, and I kind of expected him, but he did a fantastic job straddling the line between racing hard and racing dirty. He's done a great job, pretty much stepping in for Kurt last minute. He's raced smart, avoided wrecking the car, and he's got some really respectable finishes out of the 45 car. This is reminding me of when Jr. had to step out of the car due to recovering from his concussion, and it gave Alex Bowman a chance to prove himself.

Ty's talent is unquestionable, I'm just happy to see the maturity he's shown in the last month or so. He had me viewing him like I do Kyle Busch. Admiring and a awe of his ability but irritated at his demeanor. I don't know what or who put him on the right path but it's really good to see.

Just a comment from the full podcast.........Ty or anyone doesn't get to choose there parents.....I'm 63 years old, wanted to be a race car driver since I was 5.....but I wasn't born in a racing family.....so I raced what I could on a blue collar budget (karts and motorcycles). The biggest pill I had to swallow in my life is that even if I was born a Andretti, Earnhardt, Allison......I did not have the ability or God given talent to make it in professional motorsports......so I'm at peace with that.
@aaronthomas6155
@aaronthomas6155 Жыл бұрын
Half the drivers in "professional motorsports" don't really have the talent to be there. That's why so many disappear after a few years..... You're either born into a well known racing family where you're just accepted as a driver regardless of ability or you have the financial backing to attract teams that don't really worry about performance.

@@OverlandOne it may not be everyone as he claims, but all you have to do is go to Facebook or any social media platform for that matter and see one of the many, many MANY stories posted about Bubba and they're loaded with people calling him a crybaby and also "Bubbles", which has a racial connotation since Bubbles was the name of Michael Jackson's chimpanzee. While it's a very broad stroke to say everybody, it's not a hard conclusion to come to for casual fans considering he's only one of a very few minorities in a mostly white sport that hasn't always been kind to black people.

Good kid, yes to me he's a kid, I've got grand kids older than he is. He has maturity far beyond his years when it comes to racing. I was spotting at Elko for the ARCA race when he was leading coming up behind two lapped cars running side by side for position. Ty just waited and passed the cars when they got straightened out instead of trying to make it 3 wide. That showed lost of maturity. I wish him all of the best in his career, he deserves.

Yeah BMX Racing can wreck your nerves big time I raced for years I started when I was 8 and even when I was 18 I would feel butterflies in my stomach and my adrenaline pumping before the drop of the gate I can definitely say that BMX Racing is way more stressful at the start then it is before the start of a car race I've done both I think the beginning of a car race is less stressful but once you get settled in and start making laps then the adrenaline get pumping I think it has to do with auto racing you don't have to get the start perfect every time unless it's a green white checkered then Im sure that might change things. BMX RACING you have to get the street right and it's all physical the difficulty level compared to auto racing is a vast contrast . But that's I feel the same as this young man it could be different for a lot of other people but I think I'm able to relate to what he is saying since I've been involved in both . I have not raced before a huge audience that is viewed by millions of people so I don't know how different that might feel I would think it might be more intense until I got used to it.
