Novak Wins Cincinnati! - How Djokovic Never Ceases To Amaze Us....(Unbelievable)
Right now Tennis belongs to Djokovic. Although that mightttt be an exaggerated statement, I know us fans felt that way after Novak defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the Western and Southern Open Masters 1000 final in Cincinnati. It was one of the greatest 3-set matches in the history of tennis and here is why Djokovic is STILL the king.

For me it's about what is motivating him to carry on and that is records (the main one being Courts Grand Slam count). When he's got the ones he wants I think he'll call it a day even if he's still fit enough to play because the effort required to keep up with the next gen at his age is huge.

Because individuals sports is way more harder than team sports. in football player gets ball for max 5-10 min while in tennis they has to play 4-5 hours and matches is back to back very little time for recovery and they has to win all matches to win the title. If novak win 25+ gs Complete his triple career master And win more than 109 titles than he deserves to be greatest athlete of all time.

Actually, I think the exact opposite. Alcaraz was showing signs of cramping in the third set at Cincinnati yet again. On the other hand, Novak's extreme fitness often grinds down stubborn opponents over five sets. Even at 36 years of age, his fitness and stamina are super-human. Not convinced that Alcaraz's mental strength over a marathon 5-setter would match Novak's either.

But I dont see that, because, there is nothing to increase for him and he will destroy his body much earlier, then the most people think. Carlos is too much away from seeing his own game. His Eyes are always at the cameras and he will only be the one, the people love. He is addicted to the crowd. So if he is playing against another player, the people really love, it will become very hard for him. And without it coaches, they say something after every ball, he will be maybe lost. "Defending points" is a silly concept. Alcaraz is not going down to 2 in a couple weeks because he won the 2022 US Open and can't "defend" those points. He is going down because he didn't play the ATP Finals and the Australian Open. Let's imagine two universes where everything is the same except last year's US Open: First universe: Defending champion Alcaraz beats Djokovic in two weeks in the Final. The following Monday's rankings: 1. Djokovic with 10,995 points 2. Alcaraz with 9,815 points Now, a Universe where Alcaraz did not even play in the 2022 US Open but also beats Djokovic in two weeks in the Final. The following Monday's rankings: 1. Djokovic with 10,995 points 2. Alcaraz with 9,815 points It never matters what you did 53 weeks ago, it matter what you didn't do the last 52 weeks. There is nothing negative about "defending points", it gives you seeding!

After Nole retires, game will be boring, mark my words, carlos will win maybe 15 slams and than some injury will stop him, but there will never ever be any kind of remotely similar warrior , golden age of tennis will be forever gone.

Definitely. It will be hard to find 3 players of the same caliber such as Djokovic 🐐, Nadal & Federer. With Djokovic being the King GOAT 👑 🐐

So, now novak only needs one game to win, to become the nr. 1 again. I really wanna see, what is happening to Alcaraz, when he is realizing it.

Lost a close 5 set match when he didn't have his A game... he missed shots he never misses and was beaten not by winners but by the awkward shots ... but somehow that match meant Novak was done? If he got 6-2 6-3 6-2 then ai may feel differently...

It is fantastic you have to play with the younger generation so that they can come after when the older players retires

We still have Gael, Stan which are older than Nole, Murrey same age and Rafa who is older coming back next year so I hope Nobak will be last man standing from that generation and end playing 28/29 He should won Wimbledon this year but he didn't and I expect him to do that in 24-26, 27-29 Carlos would have edge over Novak and probably win 4 out of 5 matches so at the end it could be 21-14 for Carlos but it doesn't matter because h2h Novak is better from his peers Murray and Nadal and Federer who is some 5-6 years older. Carlitos is 16 years younger and it's not realistic 41 year old Novak to be better than 25 year old Alcaraz but even winning once in 5 would be success at that stage. I hope my wish come true and Novak keep playing for 6 more years, while 3 is what everybody else predict

There should always be a medical timeout when a heat stroke may evolve. I will further comment, when weather gets that hot, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to interrupt play and give the players a period to gain strength and breath, b4 continuing.

Your point was wrong in the first minute, he skipped Toronto and that’s exactly he survived that gruelling final in Cincinnati despite not losing a set in the tournament While the poor guy Alcaraz played probably 20 hr professional tennis more than Novak but then again screwed in the US Open draw despite being No 1 seed. Unbelievable

How insane is it for some fans to compare the dangers of a heat stroke to CRAMPS? I don't care how healthy you are, if you are overexerting yourself under the Sun in extremely hot conditions (who can control the Sun...), you are in danger of a heat stroke. It's a shame that both had to play under such threatening conditions; its their job... I agree, it definitely deserves a medical time out; it DEMANDS it! Are there fans out there who honestly feel someone should continue playing while having a heat stroke????

If Novak finds his serve he should win. Reason he lost Wimbledon was because serve was inconsistent

Cramps and heat stroke should absolutely mandate a medical timeout. Cramps are somewhat a reflection of your condition But they can also be a reflection of your individual physiology and can arise spontaneously and they make you not being able to play. I mean you can say a muscle tear is a reflection of your condition too. Its a stupid argument.

Novak won 2 grand slams this year alone and lost one in the finals and people are already saying he is losing momentum... What the hell is wrong with people today? Does Novak really have to win every match he plays?
