Excellent tutorial! I hurt my bow shoulder over a year ago and it still gives me issues if I don't set up correctly! Thanks for another informative video!

Thank you for this tutorial. I appreciate the front and side views and the slow, precise instruction. I practiced blind nocking and the drawing methods you described as I watched, using a mirror from time to time. It was beneficial.

In eastern archery form is it really necessary to keep bow elbow slightly bent? Some finger shooters have a straight elbow for consistency because a straight elbow is always the same length. Can can prob gain 1/2 inch more draw length keeping elbow straight.
@bambooarchery2 жыл бұрын
No, they are straight. But not all straightened arm appear straight. Most human arm look slightly bent when fully straightened

Your thoughts on native american Camanche Archery form? It doesn't look right to me but it seems to work for them.
@bambooarchery2 жыл бұрын
I'm completely unfamiliar with them so I may not be giving it enough justice. I only googled for some quick photos, and based upon those photos, I see a very short draw. I don't know if that's their full draw position, but probably is because the bow doesn't seem long enough to go further. If that's true, seems like very bad form to me, very weak
@BibtheChib2 жыл бұрын
@@bambooarchery It was written in a few books that they would draw about 50# or more in about 20-25", and they would draw quickly during hunting so that they wouldn't need to move much and not until the last second. The bow would also be heavily canted, and trying the draw myself it feels a lot easier when the arm is below the shoulder as they do, when the bow hand is canted past 45 degrees.
@bambooarchery2 жыл бұрын
@@BibtheChib based on your description, I would say the method described isn't good. If a draw happens below shoulder level, then the risk of bow shoulder injury/bad form will dominate. Also on the draw arm, it is using biceps to pull instead of back muscles and transferring weight to the bone/frame. Such method will be very risky to injury, unable to use very high poundages, poor level of stamina.

@@ronnienorth highly recommended model. It's my favourite in terms of performance. It has a very small kick (sometimes not noticed) but for the performance that it provides, it's well worth it.
