i am not struggling with sexual temptation rn, but with procrastination. I can't find motivation to study, and I keep on just doing things that won't help me in anyway. I have a lot of works to pass, but I got sick today so I can't work on it. I cried to the Lord about my cares, then this video popped in my notifications. Truly, God knows our struggles, and He will not just let us drown with it.

The most encouraging part of this story is how it ends. “Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.” Brothers and sisters, don’t feel like this is something you will have to deal with forever. Resist the devil and he will flee. Put on the body armor and you will be equipped to defeat him. We got this! He’s already defeated!

Crucify the flesh daily. Abide in God’s word Pray and surrender to him. Remember Ephesians 6:17. The more you starve the flesh the more the spirit grows. Great video and analysis! 👍🏻

I've had some brutal temptations to yield to habitual sin lately. My solution? Pray for someone every time I'm tempted! Nothing takes the edge off of temptation like focusing on someone else's needs. Pray for your pastor, his wife, his children. Pray for the marriages in your church. Pray for your relationships and the people you love. Satan isn't going to want to hit you in those soft spots if your retaliation is to pray for other people. Of course you always need to be in the Word and praying for God's strength all the time (since we never know when temptation will come) but this has really helped for me. And it's benefiting those around me!

A pastor once explained sin in a way I've never forgotten. When temptation enters our mind if we see it and turn away from it, that is not sinning. We sin when we look back and think upon it,fantasize about it in our minds even if we haven't yet physically acted upon it, in our mind we've already sinned. Temptation was sooo strong yesterday and I was soo close about giving in but the Holy Spirit was working harder and I was able to fight it off. I also read Galatians 5: 16-17 this morning: “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. This has been very difficult. Right after I come off a fast & get really serious with god. Stopped drinking and smoking weed for 5 months almost every ex has come out the woodworks. I’ve been having every temptation thrown at me within the last week & I’ve already fallen once over the weekend. I just started blocking emails. I wanted to give into temptation so bad that I didn't even want to click on this video to learn how to resist temptation... But here I am.

I really needed this. Today I made the mistake of lashing out at my brother whom I’m also trying to share the gospel with and praying he gets saved. He told me he didn’t know how he was supposed to look up to me anymore. Felt like the biggest kick in the gut I’ve ever received. Please pray for me to change and look more and more like Christ and that nothing comes in the way of my family knowing the Lord.

Man, I've been really struggling during this whole pandemic with alcohol. I used to be a pretty bad alcoholic, but had been sober for about 2 or 3 years. Now, not a day goes by where I dont have at least 2 drinks. Ive been trying to just say no, but clearly that doesn't work because at some point in the day, I just end up saying yes anyways. So this at month or so, I've essentially given up on saying no, and have yielded once again to my alcoholism. But by the power of Jesus, I will be free.

Never stop praying that God will rid you of whatever evil you need to resist. It took quite some time for me, but God was/is faithful and good. He set me free. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Remember that so you don’t give in when tempted. 2 - If you want to resist temptation you HAVE TO prepare for the temptation beforehand. 3 - You have to understand and Anticipate the way you get Tempted. 4 - Consider the consequences and the COST of yielding to the temptation your facing. Seven Questions to ask yourself the next time you tempted. 1 - How am I going to feel about this tomorrow? 2 - How will this affect other people? 3 - How is this going to affect my relationship with God? 4 - How will I feel about sharing this decision with someone later? 5 - How will this affect my reputation? 6 - How is this decision going to affect my future and life goals? 7 - How will this affect those who are looking up to me?

A few notes: -In the words of the late Ravi Zacharias, "Draw the lines!" In our lives, a tendency I've noticed is that lines get blurrier the closer you get to them. You want to stay on the 'right side' of something, even if it's too far, but if you've not even drawn a line, you're in trouble. Better to draw the line 'too early' rather than too late, too: as in saying no to something even if it might be fine in and of itself because it's too likely to bother *you* spiritually or regarding this issue or what have you. -So often the Bible refers to us as 'vessels': we're meant to be filled. Are you filled with God or the world? If you're having trouble getting something of the world out: are you just focusing on throwing it out again and again or are you trying to replace it? Two illustrations that may help: =Cats keep coming into my yard. (not really, but this is the illustration) Which is easier to keep them out: constantly going out and yelling at them until I'm exhausted, then they come back in anyway, or getting a Pitbull? (which is easier: to try to drive the spirits out yourself, or to ask God to fill you more fully so that He does the work?) =What's the easiest way to get air out of a cup? Try to vacuum the air out? Place it one of those cool vacuum chambers that NASA has? Or just fill it with water? (which is easier: to try to empty out the bad, or to be filled with something good?) --- Another note: consequences are important to note. So often we forget the price of sin: how much it already has damaged and harmed us in the past, yet when it calls again, we forget those matters only in favor of the 'minor pleasures' that sin temporarily gives us in exchange for all that pain - pain not only for you, but for those around you. Sin is *never* worth it, and unlike how it pretends to be, sin *rarely* victimizes *only* you. And even in that case, recall that Christ died for our sins: that we may be free of them, not chained to them. Don't trust the flesh: trust God. And don't forget! Remember, instead. Thank you so much for this video! As someone who has dealt strongly with sexual sins like lust and pornography I can say that only when I was reborn into Christ was I able to combat my addictions. I like so many other young men of today's age fell to pornography and lust at a young age and even though I have Christ now, there are still times where I am too weak to hold firm with God against temptation. Very recently as I have been getting deeper into my faith many of your strategies came to me, but I wasn't sure about them because I didn't REALIZE they were coming from God! Now that I see all of these examples of Jesus in the scriptures I feel so much better about my plans because now I know they were from God all along! Thank you and praise God!

Thank you for this brother Allen. Just today the temptation to smoke was my struggle before work and after work. In the morning i was praying and read a book about praying and it kept my mind from dwelling into the temptation. After work on my way to a bus stop a pack full of cigarettes was laying on the ground half open. It was scary how temptation presented itself that way but because of the situation i didnt yield to it. Im thankful to God for just protecting me from that. If i gave in i dont know what to do with myself.

Worship helps always the Power of God literally takes all that temptation away.

I read scripture and fall back on God during temptation. Also, one of my favorite songs help me fight against temptation. It's called "Another in the Fire" by Hillsong UNITED. The story in Daniel chapter three just ignites the fire that makes me want to stand against the temptation of this world and pursue God. I just chant "there is another in the fire", and I'll sometimes literally just shout out "praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!" . It, so far, has worked incredibly well and I'm almost out of the fire!

I have temptation for prayer. My problem is that I always get tempted against prayer and I keep falling there. I can’t resist the temptation which grows my ability to fight it. I don’t even like prayer. I always have to force myself and even then the temptations defeat me. The video really helped though. Thank you so much!
