Surprised I found it! haha: tastytrade.com/tt/shows/market-measures/episodes/days-to-expiration-07-17-2013 In the future if you need to do this, you can go to the tastytrade.com search function along the top right of the page and just type in the date like you see listed in the URL above, and it will pull all videos from that day. Enjoy!

buy on low implied vola. and sell on high vola.. i learned by making a mistake, i bough an expensive call because i was extremely bulish on a company. result came out stock was up 10%. but my itm call gave me return of just 80%. because that was an high vola call, an expensive one.

Mr.Deepak how can you judge if the call or put is expensive or cheap that a particular time ? Do you have data which shows Implied Volatility is higher or lower at any particular time ?
@Pilifo006
@Pilifo006 5 жыл бұрын
Almost every broker shows IV Rank of a stock so you can find that number. If the IV Rank is more than 50, IV is high which means you should be looking to sell options because they are expensive. On the other hand, if the IV Rank is less than 50, options are cheap so you should be looking to buy them.

To get a profit target on trading, you measure from the support line to the middle peak or breakout line. then you take that measurement and duplicate it upward starting from the breakout level. to learn how to do this concept i recommend you use and learn the Blended Model strategy by Dmitry vladislav. you can find this strategy anywhere on internet.

So why did they trade the SPY over CSCO in 08 but AAPL over SPY in 2013? I understand they choose AAPL over SPY in 2013 because the binary nature of stocks translates to less risk with AAPL. But why do they prefer SPY when the IV's high enough?
@dorukcelebi1655
@dorukcelebi1655 6 жыл бұрын
because they are sellers of premium, and in turbulent markets anything but the spy is too risky, they make do with very high volatility in the spy

I think the the big takeaway from that being that the SPY is a blend of many underlying equities. Which would equate less overall risk when employing a strategy towards.

Although I enjoy ur videos immensely I don't believe I'm getting as much out of them as I could. Example; u constantly address the small account and newbie investor, ( of which I fit both categories) however ur verbiage and lack of presenting an example demonstrating what u are pontificating are sorely lacking. Member that the audience u say u are speaking too is beginner level but u seem to assume muchly. Also the speed at which u gloss over the subject matter also assumes we r at a much higher level. But because of ur energy in presentation, other then not understanding half the time how something works that u are speaking about, I feel like I want to go out and try to duplicate ur success!? Please slow it down and present more examples while offering ur videos. Thanks muchly. Walter.

You should probably start here first: tastytrade.thinkific.com/ and take the beginner course. This is valuable content for both new and experienced traders and I see no need for them to change pace. Plus, you're commenting on a video published 7 years ago. Their content has had a lot of time to evolve since then and in "muchly" the same way, it will take you time to learn all these concepts. Remember: there are no elevators to success - you have to take the stairs. Good luck.

@@ragingbull94mtx thanks for ur impute , the link will certainly help. However there should be no question as to the value of examples presented as part of the video. Most people learn at a faster rate when several approaches are use vs just verbal presentation.
