Hello awesome people.
We often get asked how we sustain our overland journey around the world financially?
In this video we answer that question but also highlight the fact that we didn't come to be here by luck or chance.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to be in a position that our travels are supported through youtube and Patreon but this has come about after five years of hard work in the filming, editing, organising and uploading of these weekly videos.
In order to begin this dream of ours, just like everyone else we worked full time jobs for many years and saved all our money with only this goal in mind.
We consider our current job as full time travellers and content creators to be our occupation and we take this very seriously.
We hope this video answers the question of how we earn money and support this journey of ours. We don't make big money and don't expect we ever will but for us money is not important. What is important to us is sharing the beauty of the world and the people in it with all of you. In order to continue doing this it is your support that is what makes it possible.
If you would like to support the work we do in creating these videos please consider joining our Patreon team by following the link below or at the end of the video.
We'd be so grateful for the support. Your generosity helps ensure that the content we hope you enjoy can continue.
/ grizzlynbear
For those that would like to support us through another means we have a PayPal account that others have chosen to support through.

Thank you so much, Stephy and Leigh

As being a professional in „standard“ tv and KZfaq business since more then 25 years, i can absolutely confirm: This is absolutely a great level of work and it is a lot of work. We’re editing in a professional environment about 3 to 6 mins per day. So doing this on a Journey without all this big screens and so on is really a great output especially in this quality. But all this quality in editing and filming is on 2nd place. 1st place is you guys and with this the story you’re telling. And that’s what makes this Chanel so worth being a Patreon. Simply because i want more of this stuff, since it is more entertaining and also educating than so much running in tv.

The young boy featured at 2:27 is in the video Mongolian Winter Horse Festival (Ep99 GrizzlyNbear Overland), it is probably my favorite video, Stephy's filming and editing was spectacular and the scenery and activity was amazing to watch. It is a do not miss video. Just my opinion. Glad you guys are doing well and are enjoying your jobs.

Video editing takes FOREVER!!!! I'm lucky if I can put a video out every couple months! And my videos are nowhere near as well made as yours! Steph cannot get enough credit :) This was a really interesting video, thanks for making it! I very much respect the integrity of how you run your channel and I try to emulate that integrity with mine. It's good to see people be successful without selling out.

Dear Leigh, thanks for your vid and explanations. As a small company owner I know: you need to fill your life with sense, not money, with joy, not luxury, with love, not hate. Your channel is one of my very few favourites, also for the reason of no clickbait, no bullshit, just plain and nice storytelling. Keep up!

@@leighdearle5965 If your work is unable to pay your bills, or is able to take care of only a small percentage of your expenses, and then you resort to something called as being "supported" through Patreon to take care of your expenses, it isn't being self sufficient. Influencers and content creators have ruined the mind of young ones where almost every kid wants to be one since they assume it's well paid and glamorous as projected online.

For me, Patreon is very different from begging. I see it more in the spirit of concerts or restaurants where there is no fixed price and you just pay afterwards whatever it was worth to you and whatever you can afford. Stephy and Leigh provide very high-quality content and for me, it's definitely worth supporting them on Patreon. If you don't like their content or can't afford to support them then just don't do it. The only critical aspect of Patreon is, that Patreon itself gets about 10% of the money. It's a business. I would prefer it if 100% goes to the artists. But the alternatives like donations via Paypal etc. never worked very well.
@badgerpa9
@badgerpa9 2 жыл бұрын
Someone paying them $10 a month for 4 enjoyable videos is less than what people pay to watch stupid movies in the theatre. They also get content just for them, so Stephy is doing special care work for them, not even close to begging. When you grow up and need to work for a living maybe it will make sense.
@leighdearle5965

@@anandh4581 you can call it being paid through Patreon if it makes you feel better 😉 I pay for my Netflix subscription... I also think we make it quite clear that we don't earn big money but we are simple people and experiences not money are what we value.
