That’s so good to hear! Sometimes when you live so close you can take it for granted. Mountain bikes is the best it’s great exercise and it’s good for relaxing our brains!!! Good do get into the woods and out of the rat race! Keep up with the riding. Without your health you have nothing.

It just takes full commitment to a routine. Then the discipline to maintain that routine!! It’s not easy. But I know it’s worth it!!! 😃

Good to have you back. We have similar trails accessible from the house as well. Sometimes just being out for an hour makes a huge difference in my mental state. A lot of folks here ride at night which is another way to fit it in.

Good to see you back making videos! Spending my 2nd snowbird winter in FL riding Alafia, Balm & Carter. Way easier to find the motivation to ride down here vs. the 20 degree icy/snowy situation up north 😊

A wise man once said if you don't take time to take care of your health, you will have no choice but to take time to take care of your illness. Like you said, It's difficult. Some people see you riding or skate boarding or whatever you do to maintain your health (Physically and mentally) and they think you're just having fun and neglecting your priorities. When in reality, they, are most likely the ones neglecting what is truly important. I am about to retire and in the past few years, I have found this to be profoundly true.

Thanks for the comment! I agree 💯. Love the quote, and I know it to be true. It takes discipline to live by that standard. Once mastered it then becomes a lifestyle!

1stly welcome back Ken! I go out every Saturday to ride and film and then do fitness laps at my local generally 2 times a week in summer and then in the winter months I mix it up with indoor sessions on Zwift or ride my road bike at night mostly on cycleways or night riding on the mtb. Was doing a couple 40 minute gym sessions a week also but not at the moment.

@@kfivemtb for the last 4 years I’ve been racing enduro but I’m not doing many races this year so the training may be a bit fluid. But as you said in your video that you are at an age that you have to do it regularly so you can keep doing it. I’m just into my 50’s so I feel like I need to do something at least 3 times a week

I'm semi- retired, with that being said, I attempt to trail ride one day out of every weekend. If I'm lucky, I get a 2nd MTB ride during the week. I fit the gym in and neighborhood rides on weekdays. Thats sweet having that trail right next to your subdivision. Fit a weekend road trip to other trails when you can. Thx for the video.

Mtn biking is a lifestyle. When my wife and I get home from work we ride, and the next nite we do the same thing. And on the weekends we just ride more. We plan stuff around our riding. And the reason we ride is cuz it's fun...

When time is an issue road riding is far better for fitness and conditioning than trail riding. I live in one of the subs at Sandy Pine Preserve and depending on the time of year and weather I’ll wake up earlier and ride or afterwork even at night. I switch up between road and Turkey creek, Cameron preserve

I just can’t road ride! I have trust issues with human’s behind the wheel 🛞. They are doing everything but driving anymore 😃. I’ve been riding regardless of how much time I have I used to not ride unless I had at least and hour and a half of open time. Now if I have 30 minutes. I’m sticking in a short ride.
@jamescollison8066

As long as you’re doing some type of Ryan, or at least 40 minutes is better than not doing any ride at all regardless of road or trail I hear you about the road. I am always a nervous wreck myself. I just sometimes it’s just better beneficial and you just have to pray, for the best of the good thing is, you know Palmbay Road from Babcock to US ones got a nice shoulder bike lane as well as a US one for the most part specially, if you’re heading south are usually head west up Malabar headed north up to Palmbay and then back down to Port Malabar and my subdivision with long roads, however, head out to the ocean front and head south to down US one turn around somewhere by Sebastian inlet or if I don’t feel like climbing or the winds too strong or heavy traffic I’ll just head south down US one and come up like Valkaria and then come up Corey Road do that but at least I did the trails definitely every once a week if not 2 to 3 times a week

Well darn! I thought "all" MTB'ers were independently wealthy 🤓 Hi Ken. All you have to do is wait until you're retired. EASY But then you have to figure out how to pay for little things like cool hubs, carbon fiber bars or frames, tires, travel expenses. Should I go on?

I’ve been fitting in 6 or so miles whenever I can. It’s usually turkey creek and Cameron. But sometimes wickham and Jonathan dickenson. It just sucks when it gets dark so early but the weather is nice. But soon we will be back to hot 😅. Maybe you need riding buddies. Having people to ride with makes me more motivated.

Hey Ken, I used to live 2 min's from grapefruit and I have rode there a hand full of time's but I never knew the sanctuary had such an awesome trail!! I live in West Melbourne now but I would definitely like to check that out. My problem is once I got unemployed I got both my boys full time and started getting lazy and now I tell myself I'm going to ride my bike everyday this in that get in shape and healthy well put it this way my RockShox on the front doesn't have high enough settings for me 😂😂 I don't have anybody that I ride with I usually just go by myself but honestly I think it would motivate you more if you did have somebody to ride with I know for myself would, but I think if you're trying to motivate yourself to create a habit pattern then that other person or persons would definitely help even if you are limited at time and have a job I think it would still motivate you to stay in shape and to keep up with the other people that are with you and I think that's what I need!

It's February 9th and I think I'm going to go check that trail out at the sanctuary see if I can get through it I really do appreciate the video cuz like I said in my last comment I never even knew it was there. But anybody that reads this comment back if you're like me need a riding partner and you are a beginner like myself feel free to contact me and let's get motivated and healthy 🤙

You should definitely ride it! Try and make time to go just a couple days a week then once you get comfortable add more days. I’ve tried so many times to plan ride times with people. But everyone has crazy schedules. Saturdays and Sundays you can always find a crew over there riding! 😃
