Cossack is also insanely maneuverable and quick. It feels like a speedboat, with very good turning and braking. Its turrets are quick too. There's really nothing to dislike about this ship.

Lightning has the same conceal as Cossack. You trade some extra dpm (1 extra turret with 5s reload instead of 4.5s for the lightning) for 1 torp launcher, but longer range and better reload on the torpedoes. And no, the Heal comes at T9 for the british destroyer. Lightning does not have it. Also Lighting shells are slightly better, flight time to 12km is 9.7s for lightning, and 12s for Cossak, making it easier to land shots at the limit of your range. Overall the Cossack is slightly better than the lightning for anything but torp alpha strike.

I really enjoy this ship for operations, that fast reload on the torps allows you to torp the battleships in the beginning of Narai and Raptor. It's so maneuverable that I don't mind taking a pot shot to get the guns aimed at me and off of my team for a few seconds so the bot keeps swapping targets and shell types and those guns just shred destroyers.

The Kidd was my "free" ship in the anniversary trade in. I was looking at the cossack last year so thanks for this video.

With the whole torpedoes not reloading till all are fired, you can just switch to them and hit F to start reloading without shooting all

All of the Tribal class in game are insanely strong, both Haida and Huron are very strong T7 DDs. Cossack/Cossack B is an absolute monster. The fast smokes and hydro along with the gun power, for me, really reward aggressive play. Even subs have to be terrified of this thing because it’s stealth and hydro means it can sneak up to subs and get on top of them with hydro, at which point, back to port you go. An absolute favourite ship and I do have both Cossack and Cossack B.

I have both Cossack and Cossack B. Very strong ships. I had it for years, then got "B" in a crate a few moths back. Strong contender for best DD at Tier.

The main British DD line does NOT get a heal until Tier 9.

Cossack also gets both the British DD acceleration and an Engine Boost consumable. The tech tree British DDs don't have access to Engine Boost.

I remember when Cossack first came out in an event that had British Tokens where you collect them through an event which was pretty easy to do. At the end you will need to purchase the last token for $1. Best $1 I spent on WoWs.

The other thing to mention is that Cossack has a speedboost - which removes the being caught by other ships that can happen with mainline british dds....

The single fire on the torps makes them much more effective, I get a surprising amount of torp damage with this ship.

I got the Cossack B last year and do well with her - don’t play her enough! And the short smokes don’t lull you into camping too long and eating a torp!

Picked it up today and went 5-0 in ranked immediately. First game I said "oh boy this one is good" about halfway through because it felt SO good to play. 10/10 ship.

I got lucky with uncle same container, cossack drop, initially I have huron which was a reward I believe in a dockyard mission. comparison wise, huron have faster gun reload but concealment is at 6.2km while cossack has extra gun, conceal is at 5.5, along with a 10km torps, its nice creeping up to unsuspecting enemies XD

Ive been winning almost every game of ranked i play on my lightning, the british destroyers are beasts. I think i would be very happy with the cossack.

Cossack and Haida are greatly fun stealth ships.

I just got the ship and I like it but I was shooting a tier 9 bb in smoke shot 68 shells 54 didnt penatrate and I caused I think 3000k damage with no fires. Its almost like am I supposed to spot and thats it because the shells are doing nothing to other ships but give my general position away to the enemy.

Cossack's strengths are obvious. The downsides are lack of a heal; weak AA, and low-velocity shells. With eight guns the ship is ridiculous against tiers 6 and 7 and generally strong against tiers 8 and 9. Because its hydro can be equipped/signaled to run for 4 minutes it's especially good against subs. The problems come from tier 10 and CVs. The 5-second reload isn't competitive against fast-firing high-tier DDs. You're forced into a stealth role in most T10 battles, able to fire only 4 torps every minute. Cossack is both frustrating and rewarding. I recommend it based on 275 battles experience.

What a lot of people don't comment on enough is the engines that a lot of the Royal Navy ships have. The acceleration/decelleration is fantastic across all classes. I have HMS Vanguard and her speed,accel/deccel and agility means I can play her like a cruiser, which I do. ;-) The RN Destroyers also have excellent engines and can get themselves into and out of trouble very well. 🙂

Man, I remember getting this when it was released, pre CV rework. I thought it was the best gunboat dd in the game at the time. Then the carrier rework happened and this thing has no noticeable AA so I play it a lot less

Historically WWII warships fought fire with foam or CO2 because lots of stuff on a ship has fires which water doesn't work well on (like fuel oil which floats), in that scenario you could easily have follow up HE blow away the flame retardant and relight the fire.

My best Game considering spotting was with Shima. Smoked a random Mino around the Map and he went ham (~230k spotting) :D So sad to see CV getting these Numbers w/o even doing it on purpose

Extremely strong. For ranked it may be the best dd. Great cap contester/ dd knife fighter. It also looses no speed when turning so can make full speed turns.

Cossack is my main dd for ranked, it is great in almost every aspect though I do am eyeing Fenyang as it is almost similar in everything except torpedoes, smoke & concealment, much better velocity though.

I'm torn between getting one of these or the Mainz B. I've seen a lot of Mainz in ranked this season and that thing is a PIB to deal with!

Cossack, Le Terrible, and Kidd are the top 3 T8 DDs. Different playstyles, all very powerful if played to their respective strengths.

I have Cossack B, & it's very agile, to say the least. Not fast, which is a let-down, but agility is really good. Add Hydro, & captains' skill of RPF, & you're looking at a great DD-hunter. Guns are decent enough, torps are ok, I guess, but limited arcs suck. I'd rate Cosack at 7-8 out of 10? Bearing in mind that I'm NOT a great DD player, very average. & yeah, I got Cossack B through the Fri 13 boxes

one of the best counter for Cossack is a smart CV player. but with no CV, its one of the best for offense and defense.

Personally I believe the best gun boat dd at t8 is Kidd! Best AA , long smoke for farm or hide squishy cruisers of your team, and of course heal! With Fletcher level dpm...

Cossack is hands down one of the absolute best t8 dds. It is so god damn versitile. Perfect for ranked. I have 70% winrate in that beast.

Cossack is a really really good DD when it comes to beging a nuisence for the enemy team. It has great concealment outspotting the oponents,some torps and good guns with strong HE and the short-duration smoke with hydro The worst part is the AA range and the general lack of AA dmg because of 2.5 km range which is basically air spotting range.Cossack even has problems to quickly shot down fighters

Cossack is basically a free win in T8 ranked. Similar to the Jervis in T7.

Cossack DPS is about the same as Kidd/Benson having higher alpha with slower reload. It has even worse ballistics than USN DD's, but nearly double the fire chance (8% vs 5%)

Water and fuel don't mix dude so the fire will still be lit need foam or co2

For ranked Kidd suits me much better than cossack. 1vs1 on full health cossack wins but add in ranked radars losing some of health for both and kidd's heal means kidd wins that fight mid/later game. Short smoke has some great uses but vs CV sticking fighters or bombers over you it's a problem compared to long smoke.

But a stealth build Lighting has the same 5.5

I think Akizuki is stronger. It has also great dpm, 30 mm pen, better shell travel time so you can hit DDs easier. Cossack is only better for playing the objektive. Only downside to Cossack 6 km concealment.

Honestly it was quite busted right from the start. It's ridiculous in ranked.

When there is radar, it's a different story. And every CV laughs about the aa.... The torpedos are not bad, but the reload is awfully slow.
