Maybe if you are super new and haven't had a lot of rides under your belt. In the several years I've been taking uber/lyft fairly regularly, I've only had one driver with a rating that low. He started to make very sexually inappropriate comments about the women walking down the street (like, very graphic), it was so awkward. I told him to stop about 3 blocks from my work and I walked the rest of the way. I reported him.

It's just an easy joke. You can say anything about yourself and add "cause I'm gay," and the people laugh.
