How Does Groundwork Relate To Riding?

Have you ever wondered how the groundwork relates to the riding of your horse. In this video I show you how we teach the horse the aids from the ground and then take it into the saddle.
Groundwork has many uses when it comes to training your horse. It can help your horse to understand what you want him to do. It can help him have "respect" on the ground, and it is particularly useful in teaching your horse to manage his flight and fight reflexes. I show you some groundwork basics that relate to our basic aids under saddle.

Hi Josie, loving your videos. I have a gelding ive been trying to implement your training methods to and im having a hard time getting him to stand still while doing the things that require me to be behind him/next to him. Do you have any suggestions?

The shoulder movement you are asking for and teaching from the ground, is it the different from turn on the forehand? My horse often crosses the left leg over the right and than the right leg when moving his shoulder to the right on the ground, should the right leg step away first before a crossover step? Thanks

I tried these things with my horse, she does understand it but gets way 2 excited so I have 2 remind her everytime she needs 2 calm down and wait for my commands 😂 Any tips in how 2 make her become more calm?
