It's crazy how I found out about Michael through YTPs, then one day decided to check out the source material, and now I listen to his stories and legit enjoy listening to him tell them with his own unique style.

He said at one point, he didn't actually mind the YTPs at all, the reason got angry about it was when he assumed kids were watching the YTPs, as well as it being a copyright issue. Once he understood fair use and realised most of the audience's weren't kids, he calmed down about it and embraced it.

I think he really loved how the meme has made him popular with more ages than before, kids grow up with his poems, and now teenagers are engaging with his content too. I think that changed his mind about things - the memes allow him to bring joy to even more people than before!

I remember him awhile back saying that he's indifferent about it and didn't mind as long as it didn't interfere with his own stuff on a more personal level. I'm glad he's grown to appreciate his extra layer of fame though, it's always nice to see people appreciating their fans even if such an audience wasn't intended. He brings happiness to the world either way and that's all that really matters in the end. I'm so happy he was able to recover from COVID, I hope he has a good rest of his life with his friends and family for as long as possible. R.I.P. to his second son Eddie, (1980-1999) who tragically passed away at 18 years old. I hope everyone has safely recovered and continues to do well.

Michael came into our primary school in 2006 and did a live reading of we’re going on a bear hunt, he was the first person to keep my attention while in school and I’ll never forget that. he’s not just a meme he’s a pivotal part of a lot of peoples childhoods! A uk national treasure!

Back in my English in primary school (I am French), we had been studying « We’re going on a bear hunt ». A long time later, after I already had discovered Michael Rosen and his YTPs as I was watching him performing « Bear Hunt » and then it clicked « THAT WAS HIM! » Crazy.😄
