Madras 1980/1981 - Question #8 from Question & Answer Meeting #1
'How does one go to the very source of thought so that there is a possibility of silencing the thinking process itself?'
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

the intense passion he had, right to the last years, when the body turned feeble yet the soul was burning brighter still with the passion he had, to spark that in another human so he could findout for himself. if there is to be any goal on earth, it should be to live and die with a passion and purpose like this. no matter people didn't really understand then or even now, he did his part with everything within him. i love K.

Thoughts are nothing but intelligent beings who can communicate with the human subconscious. When you start to hear thoughts those are aliens from another dimension communicating with you. Choose your speaker wisely. Because these entities speak through you whenever you give them the authority to talk. Sometimes these beings are so powerful that they over take your mind without you even knowing and you become a fluent vessel for them to use so that they can communicate with other subconscious, and create different realities by using you. Every time a thought arises in your mind you are being contacted by extraterrestrial entities who travel using energy that all living and non living things can feel. Yes non living things feel to. A fragile glass object can feel the force of you throwing it on the ground because it breaks. Watch those aliens y’all lol some are here to stay. Some are not.

What a powerful ending. "Your Gods are matter" "There is nothing sacred in what thought has created. It is the mind, that is beyond thought, beyond time, that knows what is to be sacred."

Salutations to JK !! I follow JK for the clarity he brings on how the human mind is working (which includes brain, nervous system, body etc,). @@pselvin9276 what i comprehended by jk saying "god is matter" is as he too mentions anything thought creates is matter. so he might be pointing that god is created out of thought, that god which they have been worshipping or let's say we have been worshipping. Years ago I once was about to leave the house. I saw an umbrella.. and I thought hmm may be I should take it. But looked outside and it was clear as a day and I left home. It started pouring that day and I wished I took the umbrella. To this day I still don’t know out of countless things why my brain noticed the umbrella and thought of it for a second and some part of mind rejected it. I don’t believe we have just one system of thought. We have got many systems conflicting with each other. The things that you want to do but the things that you choose to do etc. To this day I haven’t found the answer on how some of the thoughts come to my mind. It’s so strange it comes on different topics. Sometimes I can tell the source of it like tv or a dream or socials media But sometimes I have no idea where it comes from. Sometimes it feel it’s external like it’s connected to the worlds. I want to decipher and differentiate these thoughts but my day to day life keeps me so busy. But am here to watch this video trying to still understand. I still have no answer. But now atleast if I notice something out of ordinary when I leave the house I don’t question it. I take it. It’s always worked. I never ignore something that comes to my attention but without explanation.. i still am amazed that there’s a part of your brain that can foresee things a little bit that your conscious mind cannot. It’s difficult to explain how this works.

This is what I understand Krishnamurti was saying. The human body with its brain is a machine, a marvelous one with incredible capabilities but it is still a machine, made of matter (molecules and atoms), fundamentally not unlike any other machines built by humans such as cars, computers, etc. Being material, the human brain does not have consciousness except for what is stored in its memory, just like a computer, no matter how complex, does not have consciousness. Being of matter, the human brain cannot understand or reach the immaterial. It is the immaterial that operates through living entities including humans, and in the process an ego is formed that is intimately associated with the body. So the ego along with its body thinks it is a unique entity with its own intelligence that is separate from others. But actually there is only the (immaterial) intelligence that operates through machines (e.g. human bodies) just as people operate their computers. Thus there is only intelligence, not your intelligence or my intelligence, because you and I are basically machines. Without the intelligence operating through our bodies, we don't even know we exist, not any more than a computer being aware of its existence.

The body mind organism is indeed the vehicle for the expression of Divine Intelligence through every being, every soul. That Intelligence, that Love, is impersonal but also individuated in each one of us. We are the vehicle through which it flows and expresses Itself in created matter. The trick is to be consciously aware of it and then become rooted in That, rather than the mind's judgements. Then the mind becomes a good and faithful servant and you can go ahead and use it to live life, solve equations, run your business etc without buying into its dualistic vacillations. This rooting to the Higher Intelligence therefore happens in the heart, it is a feeling principle but understanding must come first - the mind must be taught its place!

A breakthrough video without a doubt. Summary: Every experience precedes the concept of an experiencer. In other words: Experience (fleeting), then followed by the next step of identification with an imagined "I", that just supposedly had that experience, is the pattern. This has to be seen with a discerning brain calmly. Then one can begin to abide in pure experiencing, which is just awareness. That's what all the great people have tried to convey. The result of this is fearlessness, because now the pattern has been seen and the illusion seen not to exist even.

Yes, it is a conundrum. It seems the tricky part comes from what is doing the looking; is it not itself a creation of thought? Perhaps there is something else altogether, and far more meaningful, to allow the brain to be in a full state of the unknown, not with one foot in the known which seems to stir up fear and resistance. One wonders what it is like to be in this state, for even just a moment.
@tbayley6
@tbayley6 8 жыл бұрын
+Scot Smith Looking and knowing (or thinking) seem to be mutually exclusive, in the sense they share the energies of attention and cannot both be strong at the same moment. The source of it all can't be described - it is truly the unknown - and, confounded by this limitation, thought projects a hypothetical knowable entity in its place. In contrast, looking is energised by the openness of not-knowing and suppressed by the certainty of knowledge. But thought has usurped looking, absorbing an increasing share of attention into its fabrications and having little patience for the unknown. The only way out is to trust in the order of things as they already are, rather than in the sense of incompleteness (and hoped-for future completeness) that accompanies the projections and frustrations of thought. Not-knowing is the natural background of all existence, consciousness arises in this naturally, and knowing is also natural and spontaneous when not obsessing over its projections.

JK Sir, You are not in the world right now but your video I have watched just now and your words are in me as an experience. This great man stopped with 'Right Sirs' From then I would like to add to the people who want to get freedom from thought. When we really don't know what to say correctly then intentionally or unintentionally we use 'LOGICAL FALLACIES' so we don't mean what we say. This will ruin our personality. So it's good to say, 'I don't know.' I really don't know what I have written here is really right enough. Thank you

Absolutely most beautiful words by a Master. Master tried to make us aware about this thought process so compassionately. But unfortunately I understood that intellectually. Someday (unfortunately I have to use this word) I wish we all be that silence when our being understands this thought process and all the vicious circle we create around that thought.

You are right. Intellectual thoughts are needed for skills. However psychological freedom leads to love and compassion coming naturally. It requires awareness, thought had no place in this.

I find that after I meditated for a long time my mind wants to be very active. It tries to and is often successful in chattering away. I can see what is meant when the ego is talked about as being in opposition to the quieting of the mind (i.e ego). He mentions that our gods are created by our thoughts. The same reasoning means that there is real power in the various frequencies that are generally believed to have various effects on us.

Mind chatters so let it! The mind cannot know Truth. But what you can do (paradoxically as the mind talks to the mind) is gently explain to the mind that it cannot know but the heart that is connected does know and then focus on the heart and the mind becomes quiet through understanding.
