A Common Loon! How exciting. Your shots are so, so pretty! I love this video more than any other you have produced, and they are all good. You are right. It's the whole experience of getting up, showing up, looking up, and creating and reproducing what we deem to be a beautiful world made just for us! You do this remarkably well, Tom. Thank you for your excellent videos. And inspiration.

I love the winter colors on the Loon too. So different than the on season. Thank you so much June! It's good to hear that the videos are improving. I am working towards them being irresistible to non photographers too! LOL

I had the em-1 mk1 and mk2 and the pen-f digital. I loved my micro 4/3 cameras. I switched because I was having issues with the images deteriorating if the exposure wasn’t perfect so printing large became difficult. I did love those cameras though! Thank you for watching!

Great video and photos. The sunrise photos were stunning. Waiting for your video on the Zf for bird and wildlife photography. The Z8 is a bit out of my budget….

Great stuff, Thomas! I like that you can go to one spot and find beauty 360 degrees around you. And I fully appreciate your thoughts on "the decisive moment," to cite Cartier-Bresson - when the light is changing every second, you just have to keep shooting. Digital photography makes it a bit easier to do that! A fun excercise is to go out with the camera and limit yourself to one shot for the day. You learn how acute is your decision-making process.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I need to do the one shot one day exercise again though I sometimes only make one shot when out simply because nothing else speaks to me. That’s a thing that really gets to people. They are out and they have to make a shot. It’s okay to make nothing though and just enjoy the experience. Thanks for watching Nick! Next time I’m up your way we need to get a beer.

WOW! Thomas, you are as mad on Photography as myself, my wife especially tells me I eat sleep and dream photography and its true. I have just got my first Fuji the X100 6. Always fancied a little high-quality compact, Its quite liberating heading out with a little fixed 23mm lens and the images are surprisingly good from the 40 mp sensor. Over here in Scotland in the central Highlands it can go down to minus 20, though we are definitely getting less Snow.

I’m jealous of your new Fujifilm. I’m camera’s out at the moment so I can’t justify a new one but that is the camera I would buy if I had room for just one more! 🙂we are getting less snow that the old days as well. We used to average 6 or more feet a year. We used to have temps that would take us to 20 below zero Fahrenheit for more than a week at a time. I’m sad that is no longer. 😢 thanks for watching and for your weather info!

@@ThomasPetzwinkler I know you do. I was just floored by the amount and the different OEMs. The list seemed to go on forever, especially dating back to the film era. Not a problem of course; options are good. I only started to become interested in the hobby at the tail-end of the worldwide pestilence. So far, I've bought my dream cameras: the Hasselblad 503cx with 2 lenses, the Nikon S3 2000 Limited Edition, and a Nikon Nikomat. In a week from now, I'll get the Nikon Zf delivered, and although it isn't a dream camera, I figured I could use it for the occasional video and streaming. I'm also on the waiting list for the new MiNT Rollei 35AF that they are about to release in the summer time. Besides the cameras, I've also started my vintage Zeiss lens collection. To date, I only have the classic 50mm f/1. 4 planar, but will soon get the 85mm and 28mm. Hahahahaha! Options

I love my cameras. I’ve been collecting for probably 25 years. I want that mint Rollie. I have the older model and I absolutely love that little camera. The lens is amazing. I hope that mint does it justice as the Rollie version is sooooooo good. Congrats on the the Zf. I’m sure you’ll love it. It’s a great piece of machinery. I would love a Nikormat in my collection. That would be amazing. Welcome to the channel by the way. I love good conversation on these videos.

@@ThomasPetzwinkler thank you, for your most gracious welcome Thomas. Yes, I too am praying that MINT does a good job with the build quality, among other things. I really like a camera with good fit and finish. That feeling of quality (like a classic Carl Zeiss lens), is sooo arresting. It gets you hooked from the "get go."

So, the more I see about that little camera, the more I think they are botching it. It just doesn't look very good. This is so unfortunate.
