I bought my first Mighty Diamonds records around 1975-76 and have been a fan ever since. I have bought pretty much everything they have recorded…..Tabby had one of the most beautiful voiced in reggae music.

The Right Time LP is one of my most nostalgic memories of growing up and living in Nigeria! In the late 1970's you could hear this record blaring out of local electric repair shops, and in people's flats and homes in various neighbourhoods in Lagos! Everyone vibed to it! I am so angry that this beautiful man who sang about uprightness and peace should have been dealt with so violently! This is simply tragic for all of us but has been going on for so long it seems as if there's no end, no real effort to curb the violence. This is very sad. Gang and gun violence have become somewhat of the norm in the islands - what is even sad is that these people (adults and young adults) lack wisdom and understanding. They cannot control their emotions, think rationally, and have proper conflict resolution. What is even heartbreaking is that they do not care about their eternal life; they are deceived and on their way to hell because they are committing murders as if they are just playing tag. These gang members are misguided, and some elders are not spiritually mature or have the wisdom to redirect these train wrecks. I pray to God that they awake and see that they are killing out their brothers and that we are commanded to be above all love, to love even our enemies. This foolish behavior is now spreading to the other islands because of the garbage violence in the music coming out from there. Like these gangs have no one with common sense to say - aye all, we are just killing each other, why don't we come together to build our country - invest in property and farm and create industry. Like, do something productive. Guns solve no problems, and they will have to answer to God for all of this. What is a man to gain the world and lose his soul? They are fighting and killing each other and innocent people for issues that I am sure can be resolved with a conversation.
