@artemisjr1237
@artemisjr1237 3 жыл бұрын
@@QiLow105 I agree with you. I am relatively happy and I always think about how I can make some kind of difference. It is not by dopamine though it is through logical thought to help the future generation in some way or at least improve the world I am inhabiting at the present moment. It doesn't have to be "big" to make a difference though. Sometimes we do or say things that start a chain reaction that make more of an impact that you may realize. Btw I am a moderate saying this. I disagree with what he says about conservatives. It's not so much about resisting change, not being tolerant to things that are different, it is not about fear it is about understanding that there are so many resources that need to be distributed to so many people what is the most efficient way to ensure that more of the populace can make their dreams come true. You need to have resources and in a capitalistic society you need capital to make your dreams what ever that may be to come to fruition. Liberals just seem to feel and be idealists that don't think everything through. I think both can be smart and wise in their own way. I think that conservative is more sustainable in the long run but liberal innovation is good as well. It is about a balance. Just like what this country is about is checks and balances. I don't like how the liberals are bashing the conservatives in this day and age. It's like the tails is trying to get rid of the heads on a coin. I also found out from this video that I guess I must be an anomaly because I am a logical female that cannot fathom dopamine driven psyches. I don't see the point of it. Every dopamine driven decisions always seem to crash and burn in the long run. It's like a dog chasing it's tail once it's got it's tail it's no longer worth it.

@TiempoNuevo-ew7ty
@TiempoNuevo-ew7ty 4 жыл бұрын
When it comes to over population and seniors..most of the people 65 and above will be dead. A lot of these people who are in that age group came from families with 3 + children. The following generation 40 -50 came from families with 2 children. Their children in their 20's- 30's are it seems primarily single parent homes who never married the father of the "child" ... Really the earth is going to be over populated? It is to complex to go on here... but see the pattern. We also have to factor in the fact that even though there are very religious people still having a lot of children...the number of children being born is still less than it was in the past.

In Japan, people literally "rent a friend" and pay by the time block. It is a huge problem in high tech post-post-modern society in which relationships become less valuable than career and money. Have you noticed that higher-tech people are not "skilled" in relational areas? It comes back to dopamine in a lot of ways. Tech people are motivated by breaking new ground, overcoming a challenge, creating a new viable tech thing/idea. Not relationships with "opposite sex" for family/pro-creation. It's too much work, they COST money, risk personal loss, and more likely to fail. It's such a problem in Japan since the 1990's. In China, the 1 child policy resulted in femicide, and the result is today's young adults find a shortage of female partners. So many men but too few women to make families creates a different set of problems.

Great interview Patrick! I really loved (no pun intended) the conversation about love and how the "in-love" feeling fades. The way I see it, this is partly due to the dopamine effect of novelty combined with the fact that you do not truly know your partner on all of their deeper levels yet. As such, you have this almost archetypal view of them in your mind that is more based in fantasy than in reality (which is also why the dopamine effects of porn are so powerful, because fantasy is out of reach much like the future). As the relationship progresses and you start to shatter the illusion of the idea of your partner and start to see the reality of who they truly are, that's when the "in-love" effect starts to fade. You're a great interviewer with great guests and interesting topics. 🙏🏻👊🏻

The fear that drove China to abolish the one child rule was mostly driven by the imbalance created by selective breeding as boys have a perceived greater value to a family vs girls. A family would choose to wait to have a boy and abort the girls. The lack of women to marry for the artificially raised birth ratio of boys, meant doom for millions of men not ever finding a mate and choose violence over sexual gratification. The negativity of the one child rule had far greater consequences than just reducing population growth.

This is the correct approach to interviewing science people. I like this interview. The one with Dr. Caroline Leaf was not as great as it could have been because she was being challenged as an entrepreneur or a politician with several interruptions in the first half. Scientists must be approached from a standpoint of curiosity and not disbelief.

Product of Sol. Yes, I totally agree. This is an interview that EVERYONE should see, starting with the age of 18 years and up. I am a 50 year old professional woman and I have never listened to so much knowledge in 1 da_ _ interview in my life! : ) You know, the interviewer asked all the right questions, at the perfect time, and the interviewee was sooo insightful and knowledgeable about the many different subjects. They were a PERFECT PAIR and I don't think the interview could have gone any better than it did. Also, after listening to this interview, I have a much better insight on why, when I come home from work, I make it a point to turn to KZfaq, ending up staying on for hours. (I've been looking for that THING. ...that thing that is going to give me MORE of what I really cannot get, as he says.)...The subject of our relationships with people, our relationship with our family, Dophamine, sex, love, etc is so very "on point" and like I said...golden. Awesome interview carried out by both men! : )
