It's 2024 and I'm still in briefcase simulator.

Seeing the five star trainer card makes me suddenly very motivated to 100% complete the game despite having no interest in it for over a month now

I love how chat completely changes gears as soon as Vaporeon shows up

I feel his pain with the rotom missing the hydro pump. I had an arcanine that missed 4 fire blasts in a row

The fact that he didn't bring up that he got a critical capture on the shiny Togepi is CRAZY

Just wanted to stop and say thank you for describing your final team. I never did any Battle Tower or Competitive Battling, so this trainer star always seemed out of my reach. However, I tried your Cloyster, Latios, Tyranitar built and finally did it. I failed a couple of times, but after learning when to set up and when to switch, I finally made it to 100+ victories. I never would have gotten that star without your video!

currently at four stars, tempted to go for five. battle facilities aren’t usually my thing, and it would be a real challenge, but that bright and shiny 100% is so close i can almost taste it…

I remember trying to finish the sinnoh dex before beating the league, I was underground all the time trying to meet characters for spiritomb and ended up getting the first star off the statues. Then I beat the pokemon beauty contest with milotic and that was when I realized I needed to beat the league to finish everything else

Theoretically, no game post-Gen 2 would ever be 100% complete because on top of the achievements, most Ribbons could be obtained on the majority of Pokémon. Imagine the time it would take to get all ribbons on the 386 Pokémon from Gen 3, plus the 108 of Gen 4, plus the 156 of Gen 5, plus the 72 of Gen 6, plus the 88 of Gen 7, and the 89 of Gen 8. Not to mention all the ribbons added along the way.

for the battle tower, my team that got to a 100 streak relatively painlessly was specs magnezone, soul dew latios and sash garchomp, I used magnezone as a lead with sturdy + volt switch and it was pretty consistent, although incredibly stressful and the last palmer battle came down to +4 latios vs +4 cresselia after calm mind spam

Every time someone brings up being stuck on the briefcase I feel attacked. 5 uncatchable starlys in so far and no penguin 😞

I tried this to myself and thought 'oh hey this is easier than other games' then I attempted the battle tower

The free jirachi is lowkey helpful especially the double battle fights

Hot tip for everyone who wants to take on the battle facilities, use hazards like toxic spikes and stealth rocks so that you can break sturdy and get chip damage when they switch in and out. Also double layer toxic spikes gives toxic poison instead of regular so it’s a good asset

The battle tower saga is always an iconic part of post game in pokemon, I love it!

Some tips for competitive Pokémon if you ever need to touch a battle facility again: the ability synchronize has an effect outside of battle. If a synchronize mon is at the head of your party (I believe it can be fainted and still work), wild Pokémon will usually have the same nature as that mon. A natu with timid nature will cause you to encounter more timid Pokémon. If you wanna build a teaM, definitely go check out Pokémon Showdown. I battle there instead of in the games themselves, as I don’t enjoy team building much.

Since a defeat battle tower at first atempt in brilliant diamond, i never expect to be 2 entire months trying to beat it in Shining Pearl. This system of battles was very good

2 years later and your video still helped me just bought this game last month and got my last star today in the battle tower with your team. Only difference is tyranitar had choice band with stone edge instead of rockslide and fire fang instead of ice and my Latios had shadow ball instead of energy ball and my cloyster had razor shell instead of ice shard

A great and fun video as always, I used almost the same team with some small modification, Modest Latios 1HKO a lot of things and very few things outspeeds it and those that do can be taken care of by Tyranitar or Cloyster. Also led with Latios, takes way less time to not setup every battle and as said above instantly kills most things, kept dragon pulse over energy ball since quagsire, gastrodon and whiscash gave me 0 issues, also good incase Tyranitar miss rock slide on Dragonite and dies since sandstorm breaks multiscale and therefore dragon pulse is a kill so the first Palmer fight is ultra safe regardless of rng. Was thinking about shadow ball for a while but had no spare TM for it. Would have given a very decent way of handling Alakazam among others. Also nice to not need to care about intimidate leads. Jolly Tyranitar was also very clutch, outspeeding Palmers Dragonite for example. Cloyster obviously identical. My only 2 losses happend to a Sceptile on battle 97 because a 100% accurate Ice Shard somehow missed, I guess battle tower Sceptile runs bright powders? And sadly the Blastoise could beat my Tyranitar afterwards. And the second was probably the most infuriating thing I have ever experienced in pokemon, my Latios was paralyzed and got a full para 5 straight turns and lost to a Forretress on battle 32 after my cloyster put it on 1hp with rock blast before getting dying to a gyro ball.... The team felt overall extremly safe but man was it always a semi-nervewreck to deal with some mons that know fighting moves and that are good against Latios, like why do so many psychic and ghost type get focus blast and also always hit them xD All I need to do now is wait for my last 3 swarm mons and then Shiny hunt Ho-oh and my dex is complete and my first 5-star trainer card ever completed, these videos have always been a great inspiration to one day try and go for it, happy I finally did it, keep up making the great videos!

Bro i ran the battle tower so many times with the team you made it with, and let me tell you, there's so many run enders you didn't run into. -Choice Band Scizor with bullet punch sweeps that team with almost no counterplay (you have a 50/50 chance of it locking itslelf to Quick Attack instead of Bullet Punch if Cloyster is at 1 hp) -Speed Boost Sharpedo and Speed Boost Yanmega can both royally screw you over since they're both 3rd pokemon of teams that can already stop a Cloyster sweep -Focus Sash Starmie is a guaranteed run ender. The trainer leads with a Feraligatr that your ruins your Cloyster, so you can't kill it during a Cloyster sweep, and Starmie outspeeds your Latios, lives with Sash and kills it with the second ice beam. Due to the Feraligatr lead, there's actually not a single switch-in play you can make to win this battle. -Umbreon competely walls and stalls this team unless you get taunt on T-tar -King's Rock Gallade with tank stats and T-Wave+Confuse Ray has like a 50% chance to end your run completely depending on parafusing and flinch RNG. -Moody Octillery can again end your run depending on RNG, since it's a lead that can both wall Cloyster and has moves you can't safely switch to Latios or T-tar on. -Quick Claw Politoed ends your run if it procs quick claw vs Cloyster and atleast once vs Latios -Infernape is one of a small handful of Pokemon that forces you to use Rock Blast, and ends your run if it misses. 10% chance to end your run basically -Toxicroak ends your run unless you know a specific strategy. Don't remember which Pokemon, but one of the trainers who use it leads with someone who walls and kills Cloyster and doesn't let you switch safely to T-tar on, but if you switch to Latios, it'll take enough dmg to die to sucker punch from Toxicroak. The specific strat is simply to sacrifice Cloyster to half-health the lead so Latios can clean up without taking damage on a switch in, something you're definitely not doing unless it has ended your run atleast once Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Fuck the battle tower

I've been playing this game all day every day for over a week and I still only have 2 badges so far 😅 Granted, I'm the total opposite of a speedrunner, but I'm still amazed at how much stuff there is to do in BDSP. I had almost forgotten what Pokémon games used to be like, so I'm loving these remakes!

My first battle with palmer ended with him hitting me with 5 dragon rush. The 2 dragon rushes that didnt kill my gastrodon and machamp flinched me. Dragon rush got 75% hit rate and flinched me 3 times. Got him the second time, but that made my blood boil
