Technically, you didn't even have to get registered in the school to start the game. Just one good throw at a pokemon on a ledge in the small town south of the school town would have gotten you into the rest of the world. All without going to the school.

There is a calculator that you can use to find the Feebas tiles using the GAME GENERATED trend in Dewford town alongside your trainer ID (if you manually set it by talking to an NPC it ruins this method).
