@Jack Snyder We did have a homogeneous population from a governing standpoint. All ethnic minorities were purposefully excluded from enfranchisement because the country was not created for them. I understand if you think that’s morally wrong BUT do not misunderstand the intent of the founding fathers when they created this country. The points you outlined are exactly the reason it can’t possibly work effectively. Representative democracy only works when enfranchisement is restricted to groups with largely the same interests. That’s why the founding fathers said the nation was created “for ourselves and our posterity”. Diversity was never what they intended. “A country for everyone is a country for no one.” This is clear when you consider how unhappy EVERYONE is with the current situation. No group is getting what they want. Diversity + Democracy = corrupt and ineffectual government. Sorry for the super long reply

You forgot to mention that 343 hired people that hated halo, to make halo. The studio is full of people who hate classic halo and want to turn halo into something else. They want to drive off the old fanbase to have an fanbase like COD or MCU which have blind loyalty and eat up whatever slop comes out of the franchise.

I also dont think this was the point of the video halo infinite is halo it went free to play since consumers don't have as much disposable capital as they did in early 2000's this wasn't in response to gaming competition but real world problems with wage disparity. Every game in the shooter genre has a store because it can both bank off free loading players not buying stuff and still get the huge capital from whale players who spend big on games

The games being addictive, time wasting, rigged, and just mentally and emotionally draining to play doesn't help matters and that also explains why a lot of players leave sooner rather than later as I've observed this time and again with Apex. Most top players have quit the game and went elsewhere and a lot of the younger players aren't picking it up and replacing them which is a cause for concern right there. These games constantly dump and replace players which further strains the algorithms too. It's happening across the board and it's a sign of the times we live in now.

And I think the problem stems from the progression of modern games is so fucking lame compared to games on the past. I think of the original MW2 and BO1 as some of the best progression systems in terms of pace and reward of going through prestige system. Leveling up took quite a while but it felt rewarding to go through the grind. No games are out there that have that good pacing
