"i'm not gonna spend any money on editing because i'm editing it myself" I think you know better than I do that your time factors in the equation. Not that it adds anything to your point there but I wanted to mention it because I've seen loads of people in my line of work, me included actually, refuse to buy the small thing that would solve a problem and then spend days working on an alternate "free" solution that amounts to way more spending if you count their salary.

Well, it all depends, if you can make more content that way or can get paid to edit for other people, then yes, but if you see it as an investment to learn something, it might still be worth it.

To use your content as an example, I've watched a lot of your videos, even when I had no interest in the topic. I watch them because I know your videos are going to be entertaining no matter the topic. There are tons of videos about sightseeing in Japan, and most of them are about the same activities. But, I enjoy your videos the most because of your reactions and thoughts. Your personality doesn't cost money. Conversely, you can't buy a personality (though some have tried). With your channel, you could probably upload a video about doing laundry, and I'd be like, "I can't wait to hear his observations about doing laundry." "Will we get a time lapse whether we like it or not?" "What will he say in the walk-and-talk in the alley?" "Is he going to abandon one of his sentences and end it with a shrug or a noise?" (Never stop doing this. It's the most natural and relatable thing that everyone else edits out.) "Is he going to unhinge his jaw like a snake and try to eat a Kinder Suprise whole?" "Will Babysitter point out the choke hazard for the 100th time?" Keep doing you. Don't forget to rest and recharge...and chew your food.

Daily updates for a year is one thing. I don't think I could find enough content ideas in my area for dailies uploads without traveling at least 3 hours per day. Daily uploads in Japan with unlimited content is crazy, not to mention he's still working and has to have a life. You're a madman and I'm here for every day of it.

I see Lushfruit is slacking now he's in Japan, so I guess it falls to the VP to request, for the 129th(?) time, a fast traversing of the largest/most visited temples within the confines of Central Tokyo. Thank you kind Sir. Now hopefully our Founder and CEO will do his duty and wake up at 3am tomorrow like the leader they are!

This one's really helpful! I've always wondered how Mudan's creative process is behind the scene (even on stuff like this). Also curious to know (w/ these vlogs), do you keep your raw vid files after you've edited and posted them online? Or yeet them to shift+delete and move on to your next project?

Ok so just 2 hours ago I had a dream where you uploaded a video where you're going home at night and the entire video was just you doing a voice dub skit of the dogs that you encountered that night. It was 3 sets of 3 dogs that you did a voice dubbed. Then you uploaded 2 videos of this 27 minutes award winning documentary of 2 birds but on one of those videos is an edited version where you put grunts sfx whenever the birds started fighting. Then apparently you have a secret channel where you post a video of the same 30 second video of a cherry blossom i think. I think it must be you testing out certain edited techniques. I actually can't confirm that since I was busy scrolling through your videos section, because there must be dozens and dozens of the same video. The videos were uploaded 10 days ago and 8 days ago, so it must a batch upload. The latest video you uploaded on that channel was called "I ran out of ideas lol" and then I woke up. Dreams are weird.

As a professional KZfaq Editor, what is your thoughts on camera gear, especially expensive camera gear? Is it worth it for KZfaqr to have ProResRAW, N-RAW. B-RAW, LOG, 10-bit, 422, 6K, open gate, 4K 120FPS, 15 stops dynamic range etc? I think this is another hole for content creators to fall into.

Title kind felt like a bait in that it poses a super broad question about a phenomenally expensive kind of performance art (in this case professional Vtubing) and then instead presents tips for a live action vlog without mentioning what the "vtuber" aspect has to do with any of it. The vlogging tips are great beginner producer tips for anyone interested in video creation but not impressed with the clickbait pitch.

Won't that video perform differently because of this video? So it is an outlier
@U1TR4F0RCE6 күн бұрын
To be fair Giri’s channel has basically always had highly variable performance. With it getting more extreme after having collab cooking videos. By her Bao collab Mudan’s team managed the channel and for the first 7 videos with that there’s only two videos that are within 10k views of one another. 22 k views on a model update and 23k on a vtuber commentator/collaberator. Which is right before the Pikamee collaboration with 298k.

@slinkywhippet6 күн бұрын
I don't think I've ever had jetlag despite visiting NZ, it was something to do with the direction we travelled around the world (UK-> LAX->NZ, then NZ-> Singapore (layover 3 days)->UK) - my well travelled auntie sorted it all out for us 🙌🏻 So I'm dreading what it's gonna be like going to Japan 😬 Did you do anything special to get yours sorted, or does it just resolve itself? Glad you're over it now though and hope you'll enjoy being back in Japan for a while 😊

Thank you, I always wondered how editors that work for youtubers get paid like is it flat rate, salary, or Commissioned based? And how do you judge the pricing per job is it size based(like x amount of footage/storage), hours to complete the job, or something else?
